Couple of times my 2004 LS430's revs have dropped when slowing down, way below 1 and on the brink of stalling, when I apply the throttle, the gear engages with a "thump", - this has only happened a couple of times, - it was very warm weather at the time, although this may be unrelated. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas of what might be the issue? Many thanks

Good question OP. My wheels were already refurbed when i brought the car, - I do have an original wheel in the boot and you can see the difference.. the original is somewhat 'smoked', - I'd like to get them back to original spec, - my plan is to just ask them to match the spare...

Well, the rubber glue that I used has worn off so I'm going to buy some speaker surrounds, - can anyone recommend a place that sells these kits, - I can only see USA sources via ebay? Many thanks

One of my main front headlamps, the dipped beam sometimes is not switching on... if I turn off the lights and on again it comes on... - very annoying to have to check that my lights are on when I head off (if I cannot see it in a reflection somewhere!) and sometimes it turns off mid-drive. I told the garage about this a while ago and they couldnt recplicate the issues, - I originally thought it might be a worn battery issue, but I have recently had a new one, and the issue remains? Any ideas at all? Many thanks 🙂

Yes, I have the rear electric blind... The only other things I dont appear to have are the reclining rear seats, massage seats and radar cruise...

My LS430 does not have side rear sunshades. I wouldn't mind added them. Does anyone happen to know how difficult this would be? And what I would need, please? Many thanks

Really appreciate the info and recommend contact, - thank you. I have asked the garage to take out the amp for me, - they said it's a bit of a job to get it out... Actually while you're here, (thinking as I type) - my side speakers have started to blow. I used rubber glue on the subwoofer and it fixed that a treat. I did the same on my door speakers, but unfortunately it hasn't lasted... I could try again I guess, however I am wondering whether to just buy different/better door speakers? Penny for your thoughts 🙂

Wishing you all a very happy 2020!! I have no sounds in my Lexus. Local garage has told me that the amplifier has stopped working. What's my best bet - buy a second hand replacement amp? Just also wanted to check that they are not missing anything, - like a seperate amp fuse somewhere? Many thanks 🙂

Conversation with a garage owner recently; he believes that the prices of (original) LS430s will start to shoot up. Has anyone noticed that are getting rarer over the last, say 5 years, or not really?

I am interesting in buying another LS430 (another story). I am a little picky, but saw more or less exactly what I was looking for on ebay so gave the guy a call a week ago, - expecting a friendly chat with a fellow LS enthusiast (as he's owned the car over a decade!), - I wasn't overly impressed with his knowledge of the car considering it's a bit of a specialist ownership and, the long time he's owned it. I was polite when I spoke to him, but I did ask a number of questions about the condition and history, - of which I found his response a little defensive.. at the time I wondered whether he had recieved a lot of calls and timewasters, so put it down to that. Anyway, I said I will contact him this weekend to come and view the car. True to my word, I have rang his phone (no answer) and left a message (no response). A day later, and out of pure curiosity I called his number from a different phone and hey presto, he answered straight away. At this point I concluded that he's not someone I want to deal with, perhaps he's a car dealer (he claims the reason for selling is that he's brought another Lexus, yet he's offering to part exchange your car (??)) It's frustrating as it looked like the car for me, - I am a genuine buyer with cash on the hip. Do you think trusting your gut in situations like these is the right thing to do?

No - absolutely nothing happens when I press the switch, no bleeps, noises, lights, absolutely nothing that I can notice. I have family in Essex, so I may drop my car into these guys... - unless anyone can recommend someone - maybe closer to Surrey? http://ajrpowersolutions.co.uk/

I have a Stagg system in my LS430, it has a little control box fitted on the dashboard, - with 5 lights indicating how full/empty the gas tank is (if no lights are on, the indication is that it runs on petrol, - it has a single button which you can alternate between running on gas or petrol), - however, this little box has stopped lighting up completely. Not sure it it's related, but this happened not long after I successfully replaced the gear shift selector bulb, and took the mirror switch gear off to clean the connectors (don't think this should be related). For all I know the car is still using LPG - I have no idea. I am in Surrey - I don't know of an LPG garage nearby either? Any ideas or suggestions welcomed 🙂

Yes, my LS430 has red lights in the door, - although the drivers side is not working, i attempted to replace the bulb but it's still not working. There are white lights under the door mirrors

Look fun - would you be able to post a link to where you can buy them? My drivers, Red, door puddle light doesn't work, I tried replacing the bulb but it's still not working...

Has anyone done it? Wondering how easy it is. I have replaced the gearbox/height/dual-temp lights which wasn't too difficult. Just wondering if anyone had any experience, tips, or could confirm which bulb I need please? I rarely worry about the suspension on my 130k mile 2004 LS430 (touch wood!). Why worry about things you can't control. I also don't see the point of downgrading a major component for peace of mind. Deal with it if/when it happens... which it probably won't :)

Are you sure your subwoofer has died? Mine started "blowing" - but I fixed it by using "rubber glue" around the cone edge. It sounds excellent now after that cheap quick fix.
