How many IS-F's are gonna be there then? Looking forward to seeing more of them in the flesh so hopefully will be a good turn out and the rain holds off.

Bought mine from Lexus Coventry, Richard there was very helpful and the whole transaction was a pleasant one. Enquired about others at Lexus Manchester and Bristol at the same time and found the salesperson at Manchester to be very pushy. Will probably be using Lexus Derby for April's service as it is closest and only 5mins from where I work. Saying that it was supplied by Coventry from new, and all the services were done there by the previous owner, they know the car better than anyone so I may stick with that trend. A bit spoilt for choice around here as Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Stoke, Birmingham and Coventry are all well under an hours drive away.

Why no RAT plate on the Lexus?

Glad to see all these ISF's are being snapped up and a fair few new owners are finding there way onto here. Lovely colour too. All of the colours seem to suit the ISF perfectly.

No need now. Went out car shopping today and she has ended up going for Juke Nismo. Not a bad little car, 63 plate with 25k and fsh. It's got nav, reverse camera, heated seats, auto gearbox and switchable 4wd.

Is there any way of finding out from Lexus if a car has been serviced there in the past? Enquired about a red IS 250 convertible at a Honda dealer in Bradford earlier, they say they were told it has service history when they took it in part ex but there is no proof of this.

Thanks for all the info. Trying to find one with the right spec, she wants black with cream leather, and could do with the rear tv's too with a 7yr old and a 1 year old to keep occupied. Good selection on autotrader but most are miles away.

OK thanks....seen a couple of nice examples but are miles away. There is a local one I've viewed but it is higher mileage and interior is a bit grubby.

Should they have these every year when serviced? Viewed a GS450h last weekend and he had certificates from Lexus for the hybrid battery checks.

Do the IS250s suffer from any common faults? Water pump etc?

My wife is after a new car this month and one of the options is an RX400h. Seen a few 2008/2009 models with under 70k miles and full service history that are in our budget. What should I be looking for when viewing? Any particular problems that these have had or work that should of been carried out at this age/mileage? Thanks in advance.

Seen a few low mileage 2009/2010 models for sale within budget and want some advice on what to pay particular attention to when viewing. Went to view the blue 10plate GS450h with cream leather yesterday, couldn't fault it at all really. Only issue with these is the boot size. I've shown her the photos of it and she likes it so it's definitely an option. There is a black one at a dealer not too far away with lower mileage also. Called at a local used car dealer as they had an IS250 convertible in, she really likes these, spent more time looking round the rest of the stock including a lovely Phase 1 Clio V6 and a black Grand Cherokee SRT8. http://rdmdirect.co.uk They also had a nice 2006 X5 4.8 in black with cream leather for £9500, only covered around 66k with good service history......not sure I fancy running 2 sub 20mpg cars though! Also had a limited edition Mini Cooper Clubman with full black leather which I liked but she isn't as keen on.

Yeah the 3 Lexus options interest me most. I've tried to push her towards a CT200h but she prefers the others. The SC430 could be another option as I'm toying with the idea of a cheap Saab estate or similar to run alongside mine.

She has had her offer through today and will be giving a months notice next week, so have 4 weeks to find her something. I've been reading a lot of negative things about modern diesel engines regarding dpf's if you don't do a lot of long journeys to get them up to temp and allow them to regenerate, so am now looking at solely petrol or hybrid options. Her work route is the same as mine and is a 30 mile round trip, mainly B roads with a few miles dual carriageway, so she will be doing 8-10k a year. Am I right that a diesel isn't the best choice practically and financially if you don't use it in its intended way and cover lots of miles?

In terms of reliability, running costs and dealer reputation it comes out above all the rivals you mentioned. I looked at C63, M3, RS4, XF-R & VXR8 before deciding on the IS-F, it ticks all the boxes that the others do and you don't hear many horror stories about them going wrong and costing thousands. Can fit 4 adults in comfortably, boot is a decent size, capable of averaging mid 20's mpg (I've had 32mpg on a run before), excellent build quality, and can get 2 years manufacturer's warranty for less than £900.
