Hi all. Thanks for previous help. I have recently noticed play in my steering and it not feeling tight. I want to replace anything reccomended as its a 1999 model. But am unsure what parts are called etc. I want to do all bushes and ball joints and rods.etc. What parts do you reccomend i do first and where can i get the parts? Also are the polyflex bushes worth getting? And does anyine know where to get the front brake caliler brackets from? Thanks guys!!

Hi guys. Thanks for previous help 😊 I have been having some strange noises coming from my car. I thought it was the brakes but am unable to recreate the noise in question. Today i put my foot on the throttle peddle when the car was off and noticed theres 2 stages for it. It goes down silently and hits like a stopper. Then goes down some more and moves a different part of the throttle under the bonnet and also makes a similar noise to the one mentioned previous. Can anyone say what the second stage of the throttle does and also if my noise is normal and how to fix it? Here is a video Thanks in advanced guys!!!! 20161003_113922.mp4

Just to update. I managed to get the clutch change done. And all feels fine. Probably done 1000 miles now. Only thing is a squeeking noise whem pushing clutch pedle. "SOMETIMES" and aome.noise whem the clutch is NOT engages. I heave read the squeeking is the exedy clutch and i think the noise is the gearbox. Not the clutch . Thanks!

hello peeps. I have just received my exedy replacement clutch kit. i have looked at a few guides and although i haven't really worked on cars before i am going to try this myself today with a friend who done his clutch on his bmw. does anyone have a link to a good guide i can follow. and any tips? only have axle stands. i have seen that you just drop the gearbox and prop on a jack and not remove them. will i still be able to align the clutch? anything to be careful of? also what gearbox oil and diff oil do i need as im thinking of taking the gearbox off and doing these if not to much trouble. this is a is200 sport with i assume the LSD. many thanks!! :) cheers

i am going to swap my coilovers for the same ones but these have lower springs. does anyone have a guide to do this? (think i have spring compressors.) the new springs are already on shocks so its swap for swap. also does anyone have a link to a good workshop manual? or a really good one that doesnt cost to much? thanks guys :D

Thanks everyone I've managed to sort it. The brake caliper was hanging off.... The bolt that goes in the slider bolt had come out. Trip to silverlake and sorted it in the car park. One slider is seized and the other spins so I cant see if top is tight just yet. Will take the wheel off on the weekend and replace with the other sliders I got. And replace the shock asap as it is leaking. I will update with my purchase soon as it is a good buy imo so far. was only 600. 177k timing belt etc at 80k only needed front tyres and this bolt. Mot till November. Opinions? Pics to follow soon 😊 Thank you guys!!!!!

Sorry but what are drop links? And top mounts seem fine. And will be checking the brakes shortly hopefully. How do you recommend checking ball joints and drop link. I can't tell if it stays straight as there seems to be a little but if play in the wheel.and can't seem to stay straight. Thanks alot 😁

Update. It happens when accelerating just not when braking at all. Also the vibrating/juddering when braking seems to have got better That's people 😄

Hi all. This site has been really help full and thanks 😀 Bought a 1st gen t reg for cheap. He said it didn't need work but I knew it would. My problem is a loud knocking sound front front end on the right side I think. I have read it could be some bushes. Could be loose brake caliper. Could be shock. Could be more. To me it sounds like somethings loose but my friend is adamant it's the shock (shock needs replacing anyway as leaking oil) but I don't think that's the cause of the noise. The steering seems fine. And the noise completely goes when I brake. And I think I can feel it on the floor by the pedals . Also it vibrates a little when I brake and not sure if it pulls to one side or not I'll check now. It's like the noise of a loose drain cover. And quite loud sometimes. I'll try get a video lol. Any ideas on what to check and how? Also what are the Jack points foraxle stands? I don't have a manual just yet. Thanks for your help guys 😃

It has a oem disc and the sat nav does load up if I keep opening and closeing it. It just flickers on and off till it eventually stays on. If I close it and open it sometimes it comes back on like the screen lost connection and resumes. And I know they are separate but I have seen that If you replace the stereo the sat nav won't work. Thanks

Have tried the search bar but I get a list of problems with aftermarket head unit. If I open and close the sat nav sometimes it works but takes a lot of opening and closing. Thanks

Hi all. Have seen this site a lot while looking at things about my is200. So thought I would try for some advice. Recently bought an 1999 is200 sport with built in sat navigation etc. My problem is the sat nav doesn't work. It comes out but the screen stays black. If I leave it. it might flash the screen really quickly now n then. I have what I believe is the controller for it. I also have the standard stero still but I get the ERR3 error wjen ttying to play a cd. I cant eject it nor out one in.I have tried to wiggle a CD into tempt one out if there's one in there. but it seems as if there's no where for it to go as if it's a flat wall. Does anyone have any tips for getting the sat nav to work? And aube fixing the CD part? Thanks all 😆
