That's a great piece of advice...when I have taken my car in for a service I ask someone from the service department to come out side and take look at the car "can you see any scratches etc " I ask,"no " they reply.."well that's how I want it back then" I say...
  2. Hi Rayanns...know what you mean..but..actually the middle of the door does not stick out further than at the bottom...I have had a straight edge on it..there is a lip/crease that runs along the bottom of the doors,..and, from in front of the Hybrid badge to about where the wing mirror is it sticks out slightly further than the middle.....these trims would protect this "lip" along the bottom and maybe the doors too..they are (mirror finish) stainless steel,if they were chrome they would most likely be ABS plastic.Where the rear one fits there is a hole in it to fit over the hybrid badge.I have used "mirror finish" s/steel before and it does look like chrome. There are also these if anyone interested..ABS Plastic chromed http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272248814440?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  3. That's brill'..only owned mine for 2 weeks and so far so good..know what you mean about the quality..far superior to my previous gen3 Prius...don't forget to chase your Lexus Roadside Assistance up... 0800 169 0393.. (3 years cover from new with warranty)...if you haven't already...to make sure you are sent the documents..the cover is personal cover which means you are covered as driver/passenger in any vehicle...(AA)...I have been looking at these to fit to my own..for protection..PS..would still prefer 16" wheels tho' http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252413888804?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ]

Excellent info from both...My CT is fitted with YOKOHAMA ...but the car is not quite 6 months old yet so have to wait to see how they wear....

Old post I know but I am new..and nosey.......I think 16" wheels are the perfect choice,i removed 17" and fitted15" on my Prius for a better ride...these were fitted with Continental - Eco contact and they were very quiet with excellent roadholding too. My previous Mercs C/ E-Class were fitted with continentals which were excellent and long lasting, when I have changed tyres I have always had Conti fitted as they have never been a problem with good wear and r/holding ...I am that confident in them I also fitted a new pair to my Goldwing motorcycle a few years ago...but..each to their own..as they say...
  6. Just remember the CT is built for comfort and economy..it isn't a sports car....F Sport is just a badge it means nothing....it still amazes me why Lexus/Toyota want to put 17" wheels fitted with tyres with a speed rating of 168+ mph on a car that is only capable of 112 mph...I removed the 17" wheels/tyres off my T-Spirit and fitted a set of new 15" alloy wheels with continental 195/65/15 tyres purely for ride quality....I would much prefer 16" wheels/tyres on the CT...Each to their own of course but if you wanted a sports car/hot hatch you coulda picked up a nice 350/370z for around the same money. And also remember if you DO change the wheels/tyres...the CT F Sport is probably equipped with a tyre pressure monitoring system,..so unless you wanted a light flashing inside you would have to fit the proper valves with sensors too.... ...Enjoy the motor anyway.. whatever you decide
  7. I bought one of these on e-bay a couple of years ago,i just keep it in the back. I also have one i take with me when motorcycling ...just in case...they are pretty good and stop at the desired pressure.....don't forget a tyre filled with goo will not be repaired..very costly if it could have been.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hyfive-Portable-Electric-Tyre-Pump-12V-Travel-Air-Compressor-250Psi-/400651778543?hash=item5d48b4f9ef:g:JjoAAOSwVFlT5NPv
  8. You are quite correct Tim,i think I was too tired/ lazy that time to do it properly...today I emptied the boot and put the wheel in,plus all the tools needed inside the wheel dish...wrapped so they don't rattle....there was plenty of room left on top of the wheel so I put the rubber mats it came with in,a coupla' cushions to take the extra space up so the top cover didn't sink in if any weight was put on it...and my electric tyre pump too...no need for a tray.. the size of the spacesaver wheel was.....T135/80D16/101M....the wheels on my Prius were 17"...many many thanks for this advice.... No,but they do have six air vents.. two at the front, one each side of the dash, and four in the lower fairing..two each side of the dummy fuel tank...which can be adjusted so they blow hot air in cold weather,..ok for warming the hands...when stood... as it only works when the electric cooling fans switch on...

I am actually on the very fringe of S.Yorks just a coupla miles from the Derby's/Nott's borders....thanks all for kind replies...
  10. Couldn't agree more...I have rarely used A/C in any of my vehicles..much prefer to open the rear windows when on the move... Yep me too....in summer do more miles on the bike/s than in the cage.... I have tried my spacesaver from the Prius today...again.. and Tim is correct ..it DOES fit
