  1. All is well the radiator is in with no snags. In fact as it's a bit thinner there is more room between it and the air con radiator, so no need for those horrible strips of foam between them and maybe better air flow. It does run a little hotter. As you can see in the picture the needle is just past the half way mark and it used to sit directly on it. Oh well, don't suppose it matters to much.
  2. Well I went for it and it looks perfect. It's a bit thinner than the original so I'm hoping the cooling ability will still be the same. Time will tell but all the bolt on, screw in and pipe fittings are exactly right.
  3. My radiator burst tonight on the way home and luckily I found a place to stop before the temp gauge hit the roof. Anyway, I got recovered home and removed the radiator and was totally shocked by what I saw. I didn't realise that when you look at the front of it in situ, that you are actually looking at the front of the air con rad. The reason my rad had burst was the amount of crud stuck between the rad and air con rad had forced the fins to bend. Anyone with an old GS may want to tilt their radiator backwards a bit and give it a clean out. Here's a picture of the offending filth.
  4. Hi @CustomIce. So sorry I didn't thank you for your offer. I read your post when you posted it and thought 'I'll reply to that in a moment' then promptly forgot. Sell it on if you like. I want to keep my CD player as well as using an iPod. I just can't find the right post that I have seen in the past. Bod
  5. Are these just the coolest things or what. I think I might just get one. https://www.style-your-garage.com/en/Garage-poster/Motifs-for-single-garages/Landscapes/Highway.html?force_sid=49792f559c7e4ffa8a5ee5ea7c76cb67 Bod
  6. Lovely car.............everyone. Welcome to our world Tim.
  7. Oh ok sorry. Just type in eBay 'DRL with indicator'
  8. Yes EBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222465544024
  9. MOT'd ysterday. He said any colour is fine as long as it's still.
  10. I thought I'd go mad and spend £1.47 on a laser brake light from China just to see what it was like. Ive noticed that on the motorway these days that older cars with bulb powered brake lights like mine seem to get lost in the sea of modern LED brake lights. So this little thing is a laser that points down on the road and projects a red line on to the road surface. It also has the added benefit that because it's a laser, when there is a lot of spray it lights the spray in a red triangle shape from the unit to the road like the smoke gets lit at a rock concert. The question is, is it legal? Just got it rigged in my garage at the moment and of course it's daylight. Opinions please.
  11. I had a few comments about the flashing white light so changed tack and wired the indicator function to the headlights so they have a nice orange glow when the headlights are on thus killing two issues with one fix. Good or not?
  12. Bit of a poll here. What do you guys think of these wheel nut covers? I 'think' I like them. Off and on comparisons.
  13. MOT time. Pasted first time of course. Now time to fit some more goodies.
  14. Got more new stuff today ready for play time at the weekend.
  15. Just the standard 14 year old boxes that the black paint had started peeling on, so I rubbed them down with wet & dry then polished them.
  16. Is it the same pump as the windscreen washers? If so then it could be the switch or as you say, a fuse or relay. Stating the obvious here sorry.
  17. Oh wow, I've never done that before. You really are our Godfather of handbrake drivers. I had a sticky front calliper once, I decided to fix it one Saturday morning. All went well and the fix seemed completely. Come Monday morning, early 0430 start. Got in the car, went to move away but no creep forward. Gave it some gas and it moved, then went backwards with gas. At this point I was annoyed that the caliper had stuck again so roared forward and stamped on the brakes repeatedly. Then of course as per topic, realised the handbrake was still on. So glad it was early and nobody saw. Lol 😆
  18. While I'm waiting for my exhaust to fall apart so that I can get a stainless steel one I decided to get the SS look via other means.
  19. Well the WD40 didn't work. I have since had the bushes out again, covered them in red silicone rubber grease and reassembled it all. Jobs a goodun. No more creaks Bod.
  20. Hi peeps, I was watching videos on YouTube when this one came on next. At 5.08s he mentions scraping the mat black finish off the grill fins to reveal the shiney 'chrome' underneath. I have noticed the 'chrome' before where there are little stone chips. I just wondered if any of you had done the scraping, what method you used and what the results were like? Also at 5.30s he talks about the different lower lips available. What do you guys have? I really think the GS needs some kind of lip as it does sit really high compared to newer cars. Sorry about the rest of the the video, it's not to everyone's taste but no one can deny his enthusiasm for our cars. And that twin turbo...........want!!!!🙏 Cheers, Bod
