  1. No manoeuvrability issues here, given the great visibility and the driver aids in the car. Parking spaces just aren't big enough for modern cars generally anyway...
  2. Air intake leak? Check air filter and pipework
  3. Interesting, as mine was fitted on my driveway with no concerns. I did have to then book the car into my Lexus dealership to have the ADAS recalibrated. Incidentally Lexus don't do this themselves and the car was taken to a specialist workshop. It took 2 days to complete...
  4. A couple of years back I had to have the screen in my RC300h replaced, through my insurer. It took a few weeks to source a screen and in the end it came from Lexus.EU. It was a "genuine" Lexus screen and the tech that did the change explained there weren't enough RC models in the UK to have a stock here and he wasn't aware of any pattern screens either. Obviously car manufacturers don't make their windscreens but they do set the standards for their screens. When I looked to change the screen on my Mercedes I had a very interesting chat with the manager of our local Autoglass centre. He confirmed that genuine and pattern screens came from the same source, the only difference was the 'genuine' screens met a higher quality standard. Pattern screens may be those that don't quite meet all the quality requirements of the car manufacturer or are made to a lesser specification. Only those screens that meet all the required specs are engraved with the car manufacturer's logos etc..
  5. I didn't take the paintwork protection on my new RC and had bird lime marks on the boot. My dealership dealt with it FOC 👍
  6. Check your handbook, this is usually covered under the Customisations section.
  7. From the owner's handbook ... Self-restoring coat The vehicle body has a self-restoring coating that is resistant to small surface scratches caused by a car wash, etc. The coating lasts for 5 to 8 years from when the vehicle is delivered from the plant. The restoration time differs depending on the depth of the scratch and outside temperature. The restoration time may become shorter when the coating is warmed by applying warm water. Deep scratches caused by keys, coins, etc., cannot be restored. Do not use waxes that contain abrasives.
  8. Technical Service Bulletin is a document that identifies an unanticipated vehicle or part issue and provides a solution.
  9. No it wouldn't but it is part of the service (at least in my experience). I wouldn't be surprised if the dealer would replace it FOC. That said the handbook shows two types of key
  10. Have you checked the Owners section of the Lexus UK website, to possibly download a copy?
  11. Only just listened to him on Sunday, what a shock!! He will be greatly missed...RIP
  12. I had my RC300h windscreen replaced under insurance and the replacement was genuine Lexus , took a few weeks to arrive from Lexus Europe
  13. In what way 'not covered under my Lexus insurance'? My non-Lexus insurance covers the screen for repair or replacement with the usual excess of £70 for replacement £0 for chip repairs.
  14. Because the first year VED is based only on CO2 the extra comes in at year 2-6 "Cars that cost £40,000 or more (after options) are subject to a further £390 annual supplement (up from £355 in 2021/2022) that runs for five years. This kicks in after the first-year’s CO2-based charge, so you’ll pay the supplement from years two to six of the car’s life." https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/ved-car-tax-how-does-uk-road-tax-work-and-how-much-will-it-cost-you
  15. If Wikipedia is to be believed basic VED is well below that to be expected if keeping in line with inflation? "Following the 1888 budget, two new vehicle duties were introduced – the locomotive duty and the trade cart duty (a general wheel-tax also announced in the same budget was abandoned). The locomotive duty was levied at £5 (equivalent to £592.55 as of 2021)" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_Excise_Duty
  16. Take it back and ask them to rectify it or if they state there is no problem, get it in writing.
  17. Looks more like the pad is at fault. Who fitted the pads and discs?
  18. What's the longest non-stop drive you have done in the car? I think I would insist on the excess being removed. Easily sucked out via the dipstick tube, wouldn't take 30min for peace of mind.
  19. From the owner's handbook, basically check when at operating temp after witching off and waiting 5 min
  20. Has the steering wheel been removed and refitted at any time? The self-cancelling could be affected by the wheel being off centre, biasing one side over the other.
  21. Just be aware EU/UK colours sometimes get different names from those in North America for the same code
  22. I have varifocals and have the photochromic coating along with the anti-glare coat. The later I thought was on the inside (facing one's eye) surface to help eliminate reflected glare, not that from oncoming lights? I find the glasses work well enough and haven't noticed any detrimental effects when driving. The modern photochromic coating actually works quite effectively behind glass, older coatings didn't react at all..
  23. Quite correct information and one can reduce the times the engine starts by turning off the climate control, this is what techs do when the car is in the workshop. I just wish they could remember to turn it back on when finished, the number of times I wondered why I'm so hot (summer) or cold (winter) only to realise the climate is off! I must admit I've never put the car into Ready mode simply when cleaning the car. Unless one habitually leaves the doors open there should be no additional drain on the 12v battery. Just remember to leave the key fob far enough away so the doors don't constantly lock and unlock as water goes over the door handles..
  24. I did it on my RX450h using the meter control switches under the PBD menu section
