  1. A quick hello from a new member

Welcome - fine looking example of the LS
  2. Snow mode on 2003 GS 430

After 16 months of ownership I finally got to switch the 'old girl' into snow mode last week. Tee hee, all it seemed to do was severely narrow the power band on the throttle so any more pressure on the accelerator than 'crawling speed' meant that the there was no response at all. Mind you it was that pathetic on snow and ice that arguably crawling speed was unnervingly fast! Can anyone advise whether beyond power band reduction, snow mode has any other benefit when driving on the slippy stuff?
  3. I've been searching the forum for a while for advice on a diagnostics reader for a 2003 GS430 Sport, as the engine management light came on a couple of weeks ago and my local service garage was unable to diagnose the fault. I wasn't able to find anything concrete in terms of what would definitely do the job so I turned to my old mate Amazon for advice. Having read a number of reviews I ordered the following INTEY OBDII Car Vehicle Fault Code Reader Auto Diagnostic Scan Tool, Read and Clear Error Codes for 2000 or later US, European and Asian OBD2 Protocol arrived yesterday and dodging the rain today, i'm delighted to say it works perfectly, just need to check out the 02 sensor circuit back 2 sensor 1. So if you're after a diagnostic sensor for an early ish GS 430 would definitely recommend this scanner.
  4. i have a GS430 Sport on an 03 plate. Thing is I have seen plenty of press releases relating to the release of the GS430 Sport in 2003 which had been fiddled with by Lexus 'Motorsport' division, firmer springs lower, lower ride height and yet there are clearly earlier examples out there of the 'Sport'. Can anyone shed any light on the 2003 Sport vs earlier 'sport models and is there any difference? Thank you Thank you ColinBarber now I understand very much appreciated

  6. I know this might sound daft but can anyone tell me where the sat nav and therefore the disc might be on my 2004 RX 300? The sat nav works on an intermittent basis and was wondering whether the disc needed a good clean. Based on the state of the car when I got it (auction) wouldn't be surprised if it's covered in dog hairs. Apart from this had the vehicle two and a half years and hasn't put a foot wrong. Thanks
  7. Unleaded or Super Unleaded

I've recently purchased a 2003 GS 430 Sport. Flicking through the old inter web I came across and article suggesting that the better fuel for this vehicle might will be super unleaded and furthermore using unleaded might damage the engine. For those of you with a GS 430, which fuel type do you use? Any help very much appreciated
  8. Is it Lexus's or Lexi

Just joined the club and frankly should have done so a couple of years ago when i bought an 04 RX 300 primarily for caravan towing which it does with aplomb. A couple of days ago i happened across an 03 GS 430 Sport which now also sits on my drive, or garage if you are my insurer and reading this. I maybe took a bit of a risk picking up the RX at auction but its not put a foot wrong and i'm hoping/expecting that the GS will behave in exactly the same way. If happy motoring is putting a smile on your face every time you think about the car, the GS has so far lived up to the expectation. With a full stainless steel exhaust system the car just burbles along it's just fantastic. Now to persuade the wife that i need to keep both!
