  1. Whilst I would never advocate exceeding the speed limits, I have found that optimal motorway autobahn MPG figures in an RCF are at approximately 85mph. I guess that's the benefit of that leggy 8th gear,
  2. I got 24k miles from first set of rears, and am on course to do the same from a second set (both Pilot SuperSports)
  3. OEM Tyres were indeed Michelin Supersports, which I still run on my car. Good wear rates and grip when the sun is shining, but they're shocking in low temperatures. I would fit Michelin's All Season High Performance tyre, but that's available in the US only. Their excellent Cross Climate is available in the UK, but not in sizes that fit an RCF.
  4. I have experienced what I believe is the same issue, on numerous occasions, in my 2015 RCF. A loud "crack "sound, exactly like a stone hitting the windscreen. Immediately followed by a loss of infotainment, and a brief error message on the Instrument Panel (the wording of which I forget now, but something about "excess voltage" I think.) Presumably the sound comes from the speakers, as there's never damage to any glazing. Whenever it happens, the infotainment quickly re-boots and all is well. For that reason I have yet to report it to my dealer.
  5. GY64VCC was a Lexus GB press car, one of their very first. I've never owned it, but have driven it a few times. So too has Jeremy Clarkson, but he didn't like it very much.
  6. I have just been reading the small print of my Lexus Extended Warranty. I quote.... 3.1 "If you wish to make a claim under this warranty then you must..... (d) ensure that the Protected Vehicle is serviced by a Service Centre within 30 days or 2000 miles of each service interval specified by the manufacturer." 1. (Definitions) Service Centre. "An official Lexus retail centre or service outlet appointed by the Warranty Provider."
  7. Thanks for posting this. A presentation style much reminiscent of William Woolard's on early Top Gear. It must be an old video from 2014 or '15. I recognise the number plate as one of Lexus' then current press/demo fleet. I used it for test drives at event in the summer of 2015.
  8. With mileage at 30,000 , I would be inclined to also factor in the cost of brake pads and discs. At over £2000 from a dealer, the condition of these should influence the value in the eyes of a prospective purchaser.
  9. One of the original IS Fs from the Lexus GB Press Fleet has come up for sale. GU08VSN is a well known car, having appeared in numerous contemporary magazine road tests and on "Top Gear". https://www.allwoodautos.co.uk/used-cars/lexus-is-f-5-0-4dr-acc-pcs-waltham-cross-202001166239446?at_source=autotrader&at_medium=mobile-web&at_campaign=website-visit&_ga=2.207004499.194449565.1582806587-1068503645.1549975096
  10. It's just that I was wondering if it's time to let go of my Azure Blue/Black, 65plate, 28k miles, FSH, Roof/TVD/Levinson/ACCPCS example, 2 owner (1st LexusGB) complete with 12 months warranty...….
  11. Womble72 - who is the Lexus Specialists that you used, if I may ask?
  12. Model ID mistakes like this are not uncommon. It is usually the case that the incorrect model is selected by backroom admin dealer staff when registering the vehicle for the first time using AFRL (Automated First Registration & Licensing System). These staff members do not often have insightful knowledge, especially on niche models like an IS-F. Those with better product knowledge ( i.e. sales staff) are forbidden from being involved in the registration process.
  13. Please understand that when I say "moderate speeds", I do actually mean moderate speeds. I do not mean dangerous and inconsiderable driving.
  14. Forgive me if I have misunderstood you Linas, but I was just suggesting that the benefits of the TVD can be felt on the roads at moderate speeds, and not necessarily when the car is pushed to its limits on a racetrack.
