  1. My front pads and disks all just been replaced at 70k miles and were totally knackered, though probably due to car being unused for 7 months and a lot of rust on them, but also badly lipped. It had horrible, very poor brakes with no real bite, no servo assistance and a very solid pedal feel (little pedal movement). Brake fluid resevoir has also been replaced as the built-in braking pressure sensor was also faulty. After weeks of problems, it's now fixed. This explanation furnished by Lexus stoke.
  2. I got to the bottom of my issues: The 12v battery was replace with a non-genuine one that was underpowered and wrong size. This meant the system wasn't getting the required power (According to Lexus Stoke) so this was replaced with the correct OEM battery and in addition the brakes were in poor shape, faulty sensors in braking system, badly worn disks and pads at front and had to also have brake fluid resevoir replaced... The brakes were shocking, (very firm brake pedal, but no servo assistance and really poor retardation). This made slowing the car a real challenge and according to the dealer, meant the regenerative system wasn't 'havesting' properly. This is why the car was struggling to go EV. It's all fixed and dandy now. :-)
  3. Thanks Colin. I drove 150 miles last night (climate control mostly off) yet there was barely any charge at all in the battery today and starting in EV mode it just will not do. I wonder if there is indeed a fault. What is the right starting sequence in EV mode normally?
  4. I was going to ask the same question, but I have another: I am new to the car just yesterday and it feels like I could really do with help from Dr Stephen Hawking on this one! ... My question is about EV mode from start up... does the car not work this way, - does it not hold enough charge to work in EV mode from start-up? Mine won't and I wonder if it is because my car has been stood imobile for months and I understand the battery went completely flat for some time... now I have warnings lights for brakes, ABS, stability control failure...everything! I live in very quiet cul de sac and would like to start the car in EV mode to run quietly very early in the morning out of respect for the neighbours but at present it will only start using petrol power. Am I doing something wrong? (It's booked in for major Lexus attention at the local dealer on Friday). Any help or advice would be much appreciated. :-)
  5. Hi folks! I am a total newbie here, - this is my very first post! i just got a 200h yesterday as a company car, fitted with brand new Michelin cross climates. Sadly I have no experience to offer of the car before but it strikes me that the ride isn't as firm and fierce as I had expected from various other accounts and I suspect the tyres are a factor. They felt good in deepish water on the motorway too.
