My car is a 2013 with 82000 on the clock. I thought about asking Lexus but assumed as it’s a wear and tear item they wouldn’t be interested. I had a quick look at the breaks last weekend and the piston is moving nicely tbh. I plan on wire brushing all the rust off the calliper and painting them, I plan on checking and greasing up the slider pins while I’m at it anyway so hoping the original squeak sound was the pads poor state. is the shim kit essential?

Right after having a squeal coming from the rear of the car me and the husband have started investigating the culprit. as I explain consider that I brought the car 11 months ago from lexus Leicester, 2800 miles ago. See the photo of the condition of the breaks. They look like they have been in the sea. we have ordered some new discs and pads for the rear from lexus parts. can anyone explain in detail , other than the obvious only half a break pad is there, what else exactly needs checking or changing to ensure the common sticking caliper issue is resolved so as not to damage my new disks.

New Is300h Recall (Spotted Dec 2022)

Bham didn’t give me any fuel or goodies. They are Steven eaglell group. Nice people and nice courtesy car though. -
Has anyone that has had theirs updated noticed a difference in the actual look of the maps? Do they look more modern? Or exactly the same but with new roads on lol. I think my 2014 car has never been updated. It is the premium nav with the mouse pad.

New Is300h Recall (Spotted Dec 2022)
Nickyt211 replied to matt8's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Just got my IS back and overall the ES is a nice car mainly for its comfort and modern interior. I gave it a bit more stick on the way back and found it not as nice to drive as the IS, it definitely doesn’t handle as well and I found those front wheels were spinning up a bit too easy. I have my car back now and I still loved driving my IS home 😊 I think I would prefer one of the last of the IS over the ES. -
New Is300h Recall (Spotted Dec 2022)

Dropped the car off this morning at Lexus bham. They had asked me about selling mine before and Thought they would give me a ux or nx as a courtesy car and not a big fan of them so I thought no way you could try the sales tactics on me. Then they give me this beauty I was like touché Lexus touché 😂 -
New Is300h Recall (Spotted Dec 2022)

My 2013 is in tomorow at Lexus bham. They just rang me to see if I’m happy with my current car and if I had thought about changing it? I don’t know what to expect i have heard it is a short job but then why am I getting a courtesy car? They said at least half day. how is everyone getting on. -
I think that they are not a common car and they rarely break so that’s why not many used parts around I’m afraid. But that’s why we love them lol.

Switch to normal is300h ?
Nickyt211 replied to Dantebloom's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I purposefully didn’t buy an f sport due to the harsher ride. Can the dealer not allow a test drive of another trim level. I would think for the price of an f sport you should be able to get a nice level trim. Min is only a 2013 luxury but I love it. -
Don’t keep it Unless they offer a sizeable amount of cash. Im guessing Cazoo didn’t realise the issue before selling it. But It will be worth so much less when you sell it. Many will be put off on by the mileage issue.

I get a screech from the rear only when the breaks are worn. I believe it’s a sticky calliper which is common on these as they are not used much due to the hybrid nature. I need to give them a good clean and grease up this weekend.

No sound - amplifier gone?
Nickyt211 replied to winrris's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I had no sound intermittently when I first brought my car last year. I think there may be some truth to some previous posts about drying out the amp? My issue seemed to disappear as I started using the car daily. I think it was parked up for a long time over lock down causing a bit of damp. I still get a bit of condensation in the car from time to time. not sure about your weird fan issue? Is it still under warranty? Take it to a dealer is all I can suggest. -
Lexus service plan and warranty
Nickyt211 replied to Nickyt211's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I did think that the warranty included breakdown so that’s good. Will save me £100 a year on buying that 🙂 can anyone else confirm the breakdown cover? Hoping my lovely reliable Lexus won’t break anyway lol. -
Lexus service plan and warranty

Thanks so much for your help guys. Saved me some money and an extra service. prices will only go up so glad I’ve secured them at that amount. Had a good chat with Lexus derby, fingers crossed they will provide a good service now. Does the over 10 year warranty do much? does it only really cover the hybrid system etc. I’ll get the relax till my 2024 service but after I’m not sure what will be covered. -

That’s 2 intermediate and one full. Can’t believe the difference in prices. Much more affordable. -
Lexus service plan and warranty

I have just spoke to Lexus derby and set up a service plan for 3 years at £1150 that’s a bit better lol. He said they will also do an MOT for £40 as I have a service plan 🙂 much better price I think. -
Lexus service plan and warranty
Nickyt211 replied to Nickyt211's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Lexus service plan people said that that is the set price they receive from Lexus and they can’t change it? So I cancelled it. Has anyone managed to secure a service plan direct with a dealer? I think I will be looking at using Lexus derby, Wolverhampton or Leicester (my preferred choice but far away). -

Lexus service plan and warranty
Nickyt211 replied to Nickyt211's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
This price is quoted online not from a dealer. I am still within the cancellation period. So am I doing something wrong then? Do we get discount bei by Lexus club members? thanks -
Heya had my is300h since may. I have just a taken out a service plan costing £1200 on a 2 year plan “ouch” my logic being that it’s the 9 year and 10 year service on my car. To give me the extended warranty and make sure the big 100k one is done. car currently has 79000 on. my question is is it worth such a high cost compared to other garages? My husband thinks not but I want to look after my baby lol.
