  1. When playing back streamed content from my S8 via Bluetooth I seem to have lost all the track info metadata on the car display, all the fields now say Unknown. If I browse the tracks in the playlist their titles show up but as soon as you select one to play it goes back to showing unknown. Everything was working fine before the most recent update was installed on the S8 do I'm assuming it has something to do with that. It's not a major problem but it's fairly annoying and if like to try and sort it if possible. I've tried re pairing the phone and wiping the cache partition without any success. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix for it?
  2. Just a quick update to this. After much faffing about with the actuator and various motors that always had opposite polarity to the stock motors I ended up biting the bullet and buying a whole new actuator unit from Lexus which ended up costing £145. The original unit wasn't working correctly at all as I'd had it in bits so many times and half the time the outside handle wouldn't open the door so I was having to open the driver's door by getting in the passenger side and using the internal handle. It's a lot of money for what it is but to be fair I was bracing myself for it being two or three times that amount so I can live with it. I hope this is the first and last thing to go wrong for a while now, I bought a Lexus because of their reputation for reliability so to have something fail on a car less than 4 years old is a bit frustrating.
  3. Bit of an update to this. The door locking problem was indeed the central locking actuator motor. I sourced a replacement motor on ebay and after swapping it out today the central locking seems to be working (sort of) Although the locking now locks and unlocks using the remote it now seems to be in reverse on the drivers door - If i press the remote button to lock then the doors the drivers door will unlock but the other 3 doors will lock, if the button is pressed to unlock on the remote then the drivers door locks but the other 3 doors unlock. I'll be having another look tomorrow as it'll be getting dark soon but could anyone point me in the direction of what i'm likely to have put back the wrong way round?
  4. As a bit of an update it now appears to be working intermittently now that the temperatures have come up a bit so i'm hoping it might just be a sticky mechanism rather than a broken actuator. Is there a diagram anywhere that shows where all the fasteners are that hold the door cards in place? I'm going to have a look inside the door over the weekend and have a poke around but I don't want to damage the door cards trying to brute force them off whilst they're still attached by some mega hidden screw.
  5. Over the last couple of weeks i've noticed that sometimes the drivers door wouldn't lock when using the remote but in the past two days this now seems to be permanent. All the other doors and the boot will lock and unlock on the remote but the drivers door remains unlocked and the alarm doesn't look like its being set as if I open the drivers door after locking everything with the remote the alarm doesn't go off. The door doesn't seem to lock using the buttons on inside of the drivers door although as with the remote, all the other work fine. I've found a few threads about the lock actuators failing the drivers door on other Lexus models but nothing about the IS300H, has anyone come across a similar problem before and of so what was the solution? The car is a 2014 model with 89000 miles on it
  6. 1) 1.3 Ford Escort - my first car, only thing electric on it was the radio. Slower than a dead slug but my first wheels so I was happy with it. 2) Citroen AX GT - This was a proper little go kart with the structural integrity of a crisp packet. The entire thing ended up rotten and I ended up scrapping it only to pull up behind it at a set of traffic lights a few months later :) 3) Vauxhall Omega 2.5 V6 auto - Huge, very comfortable and very thirsty also very ulgy but I quite liked it. 4) Vauxhall Omega 3.00 V6 auto - As above only more thirsty but with more toys. 5) Alfa Romeo 156 - Absolute best car i've ever owned, black leather interior was a lovely place to be. Cambelt gave way whilst on the drive and I ended up selling it for parts (if i'd had the storage space Id have kept it and repaired it) 6) Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 - Huge tank of a vehicle with 7 seats Slow, doesn't handle, very thirsty but I enjoyed almost every minute of owning it and due to it's sheer size it was mega useful for carrying stuff. Gearbox went kaput which cost me £4000 was the only downside. 7) Lexus IS300H (current) - Enjoying it so far although there has been a few occasions where i've missed having my Pathfinder (usually involving 3 kids and multiple bikes which were a problem with the Nissan) I've had a few bikes aswell, Kawasaki AR50 when I was 16 Gilera Runner 125 which was converted into a 180 so spent most of its' time on it's back wheel Suzuki GS125 Yamaha Diversion 600 & 900 Honda CBR 600 Suzuki Bandit 1250
  7. I sell a lot of tat on ebay & Amazon that I buy at auction and car boot sales as a fairly lucrative sideline so it was actually going to be used for that. I previously had a Nissan Pathfinder which had a huge load space in the back with the rear seats down so going from that to the Lexus is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Some sort of van was always the sensible option anyway as it'll stop the Lexus getting messed up inside when i'm trying to pack half a ton of crap on the back seats :) I am toying with the idea of buying an old Focus Estate or such like instead of a van and I could put them both on a multicar policy, plus something with a back seat would prove a bit more useful for family bus duties too as when needed.
  8. I've ended up with a Black one with a cream leather interior. I really didn't want another black car as they're a pig to keep clean but it does look the business and i'm plenty happy with it.
  9. As it happens that's exactly what i'm intending to do :)
  10. I was quoted the best part of £1100 including VAT for Lexus to supply & fit a towbar to my IS300H. I've contacted Westfalia & witter who have said they don't make anything that fits and several local towbar centres have not been able to source anything either so it does look like the only option is to go to Lexus direct. I believe the towing capacity on the IS300H is only 750kg for both braked and unbraked trailers which is fairly rubbish but I was only wanting to pull a small 5ft trailer.
  11. I've picked up a 14 plate IS300H Luxury and loving it so far but the seat belt alarm for the back seat is doing my head in. If someone one is sat on the back seat with their seat belt on the alarm keeps beeping for the other two seat belts even when there is no one sat on those two seats, i can only get it to go off by fastening up the other two belts. Is there a way round this? I've had a look in the book and searched the forum but I can't find anything? Ta
  12. I collected it from Leicester so just shy of 100 miles away although I took a slightly longer route back :)
  13. Just a quick hello from up north (Huddersfield to be precise) Collected my new to me 14 plate IS300H today in black with tan leather interior. I can't say i've seen another one of these on the road ever in my local area although I saw a couple on the drive down to pick mine up so i'm quite liking the exclusivity. Having previously been driving a Nissan Pathfinder the difference between that and the Lexus is mind blowing, I think i'd forgotten how nice a decent car is to drive and it makes a nice change not to end up sat in the passenger seat whenever I take a right hand bend at any sort of speed.
