  1. I called Lexus Bolton 2 weeks ago about this and they booked my car for the next day airbag recall. Interestingly today I received a letter from Lexus advising me to do the recall.
  2. Excellent review. I am considering VLine for my 2008 IS250. Your review is extremely helpful. Thanks.
  3. Hello everyone, I was wondering whether there is a front ashtray/cigarette lighter replacement for the non-smokers. The ashtray is missing from my car. The previous owner took it out when installed a hands free device I guess. I want to retrofit the unit, but prefer a non-smoker's version. I saw some velvet custom made trays on the US websites. The discussions over there are quite old now and I am not sure where else I can find the unit or should I just give up and install a standard ashtray?
  4. I've got exactly the same brake feeling when I first drove my IS250 (58 plate) two days ago. The brakes on my car also squeak at low speed when I am about to stop. I thought the pads are nearly gone, but they are fine. Let me know if you solve the issue.
  5. Hi Harry / @catchhster, Have the shim kit cured the problem? I have a Lexus IS250 and found the brakes to be a bit spongy, and they also squeak at low speeds. I know previous owner has replaced the brake discs and pads recently and I was wondering whether shims are missing as well.
  6. Did anyone order VLine kit? Can anyone post a review about it? I find the integration very interesting. It looks to me that it brings our 2005 system closer to what recent cars are offering. I personally really like ML/NAV in my IS. I find it sophisticated enough, yet intuitive. I wonder whether VLine kit can improve it further to let me use the smartphone instead of CDs and iPods. I saw their US video, but I am interested to know what this forum members think about it.
  7. I used to drive BMW 3 series both F30 (320d) and F31 (330d) in the past. I also had a Golf Mk7 at some point with 1.4 (150PS) TSi and a DSG. Bimmers were great, but cost 15-20K and left me stranded once.I thought I was a hard core BMW fan, but I really like IS now. I felt the IS is as good if not better than a modern 3 series. VW's DSG is something I didn't get my head around, operation-wise. It is nice to build up the speed, shifts smoothly, but at the roundabouts, junctions, in slow traffic, it is just horrible. Start/stop is not fast enough (BMW was excellent for comparison), you end up in the borderline dangerous situations when you are at any junction. Finally, there is this keenness to shift to 2nd gear. You feel like the car will stall. DSG just did not work for me. My IS250 does everything excellent so far and it has more than 100k miles on the clock.I am truly impressed by the overall package. Let me check if I can attached a few pics.
  8. Hi everyone, I just purchased my Lexus IS 250. The car is excellent. Oh what an engine. Auto transmission is excellent too. I thought I'll join the forum to share my experiences and follow the experiences of the others. Cheers, guys.
