  1. Just wondering if you went ahead with this? Also looking around at the moment. May or may not upgrade.
  2. My BMW never did this. It would blow slightly warmer or colder air to gradually cool the temperature down. On a long journey i never noticed it. The Lexus just blows cold air and gets noticeably colder in the cabin for a good few minutes.
  3. Probably due to tyres. I've replaced the dealer fit Bridgestones with Michelin PS4's and it's transformed the car. It was always good (no issues on motorway) but now it's a lot more planted and hugs curves better. To answer OP, my biggest issues coming from a BMW (e60 520i) are: - Stupid automatic wipers stay on so next time you start the car in the rain the wipers 'wipe. Grand until the windscreen is frozen and you panic as the wipers self destroy themselves. - The heating is grand but on long journey's i find it randomly blows in cold air. So you are driving along all snug and cozy and then you are freezing... May just be my car though. - Stupid touch controls for heating. Can't use them with a glove on and they beep loudly, not good when you have a sleeping child in the car. - Radio turns off when you turn off the car. On a BMW it will stay on for a while until you lock the car. - Even worse you can't open/close the windows unless the car is on, not just accessory mode but ignition on. Stupid stupid design. My car has electric steering wheel which moves away when you turn car off. So every time i want to adjust the windows i have to turn the car on, which makes the wheel move. - I miss having everything controlled by iDrive. e.g. the tyre pressure monitoring. Otherwise i love the car. Much more relaxing to drive than the BMW. I love the cvt for lack of gear transitions when driving.
  4. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but i just got my lexus IS300h serviced and they put 5w30 in it. I just noticed they did the same at the last service. Can this do any damage? Should i get them to put the proper stuff in?
  5. Update worked for me. Thanks for the files! Did the maps work as well?
  6. I always thought the ES was just a rebadged camry, not a standalone Luxury car like the IS or GS. It should be cheaper than the GS.
  7. Thanks Colin. I think i found the horizontal adjustment screw last time. i'll search again for the veritical one! Is there a way to download that whole manual online?
  8. Anyone know how to adjust the xenon's on a IS300h? I found something for the F-Sport but they have different LED lights.
  9. I took a long drive in the dark this week and i think the major problem is not the brightness of the lights. Instead the issue is that the aim is low and so they don't light up as much of the road in front as previous cars. I tested this with the i3 and IS300H next to each other with dipped lights on. The i3 shone a few meters more ahead, just enough to make it feel 'brighter' while driving. Has anyone tried to change the aim of the lights?
  10. I was looking for Crossclimates for my premier. They only do 235/45 or 245/45 for the rear. Would this work? I'm guessing 245/45 would be a taller tire.
  11. I find the lights pretty poor too. I have an i3 with regular bulbs which is noticeably better. My previous two cars had xenon lights, one was a mini with dual function beams like the IS300h. Both were far better. Even people travelling in the car notice it.
  12. Update the software. My 2015 was a big sluggish at times before i updated. Now it's a lot faster. I bought new maps on sd card from a website and that updated the software for me. https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/
  13. I prefer to have to turn them on manually, if it starts raining (not every day of the year), than panicking when they wipe across a frozen screen. I'm not the only person who drives the car and can't always guarantee that they turned off the wipers. Plus it's not the first thing i think of when i get in the car and shouldn't be either. All my BMW's worked this way and i prefer it to the way lexus works. Would be nice to have an option i could set to match BMW.
  14. This is one thing i miss about my BMW. It turned off the auto wipers when you locked the car, so no worry about this happening.
  15. If you find it aggressive then you are probably using the regular brakes as well. The car can brake while doing regen, it isn't 1 or the other.
  16. On my IS300h the lights don't come on if i lightly press the pedal and it's only using regen braking. Not sure at lower speeds when that engages the actual brakes, i'll have to check. In my view the regen braking is so slow that there is no need to put on the brake lights, it's equivalent of using engine braking. A driver who wouldn't notice you slowing down would either have to be very distracted or very bad and both should have no place on the road.
  17. I see the confustion now. Lexus Ireland don't sell the premier model, they only show a 'Premium' model.
  18. The Lexus site says it comes standard with a 10 speaker pioneer system. Has this changed?
  19. I thought ML was an option? Not all premiers i saw had it. They all had upgraded speakers but not all had ML system.
  20. Mine has noise. Not all the time but a few mornings I noticed it. I found a thread talking about a bad seal on the door causing the issue. I’ll see if I can find it. Also hear a tapping sound that seems to be coming from front door but hard to pinpoint.
  21. And I was hoping the dealer would be different than BMW. Ugh... the same old overcharging... Anyway a fellow cork man. There’s not many of us driving lexii :)
  22. What version of software do you have? If you bought from a dealer bring it back and get them to put the latest version on.
  23. This and this. Both mention that the maps updated the software. i'm happy if it just updates the head unit.
  24. I just prefer to not ask for freebies on my first visit to a dealer :) I already took a free test drive then bought elsewhere. I've read that the system gets updated when you update the maps. This 2015 car has 2013 maps so will buy an update. There is a company (satnavdvd) in UK that sells 2017 maps for 50 quid.
  25. I've never used them but i've read good reviews about the Michelin crossclimate+ tyres. I'll be looking to buy some when the time comes.
