  1. I have a eLSD and find it gets off the line really well, it helps the torque curve is well suited to launching, you wont have any complaints in that department.
  2. Its not the price its the market. Surely WBAC will give you more than that?
  3. The main difference between the main dealer and independent in my experience is 100+ point inspection they do as part of the preparation. This involves them changing tyres, brakes etc if they fall below a minimum level which an independent would try and avoid or replace with cheap parts. I once viewed a BMW pre multi point inspection and agreed to buy it. The dealer rang me later to say after inspection it was going to need 4 new tyres, brakes all around, and a new splitter and it was no longer viable for them to sell under their approved used scheme. It went through auction and a week later turned up at a local garage being sold with the same tyres and brakes BMW had rejected and a cheap repair on the splitter.
  4. Looks a good price to me, these cars dont sell quickly unless you get lucky as they are quite niche. If you need a quick sale maybe try motorway.co.uk or look to see if any local car dealer will list it for you for a commission? Some people are put off private sales. Otherwise I'd continue to enjoy it whilst you still can and it will sell as it looks a good car for the money.
  5. Who did the manifold work? Just in case my manifold ever goes since you are local be good to have someone who has done it before.
  6. When I was looking to change mine, someone warned me off the RR racing one as more suitable for track work than daily driving.
  7. I dont think there is a better sounding engine than these, a gransport is on my list at some point.
  8. Pah I just used the standard attachment feature on a post 🤷‍♂️ Try this one instead https://we.tl/t-ChvyUXDqWT If you want to come and compare noises thats fine by me. If you need to have a manifold fabricated, these fellas are worth a call http://www.pipewerxcars.com/
  9. I have used this garage a lot over the last 10 years with various cars and cant recommend him enough. https://grinspeed.co.uk/ He is an ex WRC mechanic and also worked for a jap specialist before going solo. Just follow them on facebook to get an idea of the standard of their work. My ISF has been a couple of times but this was to fit an exhaust and a fast road setup, I had warranty until recently so was still having the car serviced at Lexus to retain that, but they will be looking after my car for everything going forward.
  10. The engine does have a ticking noise by default. This is the best example of the cracked manifold noise I have come across. 902408383_ISFCrackedManifoldNoise.MOV
  11. You cant visually inspect as the corrosion happens internally to the radiator, there's a theory about what's been used to top up the radiator being the culprit. Just dont want you thinking you are safe and then facing a large bill. Lexus Bolton did mine for approx £600 all in
  12. 08 plate 100k ISF's are sitting around the £20k mark these days so I think this price looks ok to me, considering its has the diff and DAB. I think that RCF was more a one off and most have tended to be around the £35k price point?
  13. The ISF might have gone up more than the market average but less so than its peers imho so I still think it represents good value. A year or so ago I was looking at putting in 15k to move to a 4.0 C63 and now that move will need closer to 20k.
  14. I think this is a prime example of why it sometimes gets called the dyno lottery. I find it very hard to believe just a cat back exhaust has gained 50bhp on a NA car. 10 would be a good result and 20 a shock, the cats are still in place so there has been very little restriction removed.
  15. There is certainly some correlation here, I have had 2 CTR's and almost pulled the trigger on a DC5 twice, and will probably always regret not doing so. I like NA and I like Japanese engineering! Oh and at 6'4 I can confirm tall people dont fit in a S2000, that was a sad day, I couldn't even get in 😞
  16. Hi, I am in the area and would be happy to take you for a blast some time. Mine is a late prefacelift, stock bar exhaust with a fast road geo setup so would give you a good benchmark on suspension and LSD. I've had it nearly 4 years and due to growing family (2nd child plus dog) and more regular winter duties I am considering a B8 RS4, plus I always wanted one, so would be interested in your opinion on that. I didn't really get the impression they were money pits! Though I am not expecting Lexus levels of reliability. Then every so often I drive the F and think why would I ever get rid!
  17. Most RR calculate transmission loss to provide a crank bhp, I would be very surprised if the number he was quoting was rwhp.
  18. Unless you are running with a bunch of other cars and they are all making the expected figures and you are not I would always take RR figures with a pinch of salt. How does the bum dyno feel?
  19. Given the warranty is now included with the servicing, personally I see even less reason to buy from a Lexus dealer than ever before with their inflated prices. I'm all for F car values increasing, but I cant believe someone has paid that sort of money for that car. It would be lunacy and show a complete lack of knowledge of the price point of what they were buying. Unless some money no object person happened upon it and fancied. I wont be surprised if it surfaces again.
  20. Given fuel prices are criminal at the moment I respect any eco warrior activities. This week I am doing the school and nursery runs in the F as the wife is away in the family car. 5 mile round trip 3 miles a day on a cold engine with a bit of traffic. 19mpg and 42 miles from £20! If it keeps going up a spirited drive might get close to £1 a mile!! Edit: just did some quick maths and using super unleaded 6 mpg would be over £1 a mile
  21. The corrosion occurs internally, so it cant be visually inspected or so I was told by Lexus.
  22. It is bizare that we dont seem to suffer the Valley Plate failure in the UK yet its quite common in the US. I dont think I have heard of a single UK instance.
  23. That is a crazy price! Surely primed for an upcoming 'sale'. Have new car prices also gone up?
