  1. Welcome to the club mate and enjoy the quality and luxury of lexus driving :)
  2. yes 6th is useless this is a motorway cruising gear for those that like speed so 80mph gives about 1900rpm which i find acceptable. Also the gear ratios between 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd are odd too you need a good amount of revs before shifting up to maintain any kind of power.
  3. I feel more that the petrol will be more suited to my needs. I do a mid ranged amount of miles mixed city, country lanes and motorways, and having seen the extent of diesel and EGR problems both first and secondhand I have decided petrol or hybrid is definitely going to be a better fit for me. plus the added fact they can be revved slightly more and are an overall more fun drive in my experience
  4. HI guy/girls new lexus owner here currently owned my is220d for 3 weeks now. Despite initial egr problems (which i fixed myself) the car is a beautiful drive and the comfort is second to none. Condition of the egr has definitely inspired me to make my next car a petrol though. Looking forward to getting to know you all over time as I have definitely been converted to Lexus.
  5. Update. Checked fuel cap this did not appear to be the problem. upon further inspection and a quick hook up to a diagnostics machine, it was discovered to be a blocked egr valve. 3 hours later and after some heavy cleaning the car is fine I have improved mpg and no dash lights. happy days
  6. Hi, new lexus owner here. Currently have a 57 plate is220d with just over 100k miles on it. driving today and had the check engine, traction control light and check vsc message come up on the dash. fingers crossed so far no loss of performance and car drives as should. checked petrol cap and this does not seal and lock as it should. Any advice on the way forward. only had the car 3 weeks and most driving is done on dual carriageways and motorways.
