  1. Happy Birthday pstraghan!

  2. Hi, 1 yr old car without a mark - except window seals have collected dust & dirt... AND I now have noticed green stuff growing on the bottom window seal, which is just inside & I can't remove. Car is only used/moved once a week! Anyone solved this one & how best to prevent? Anyone recommend use of car cover for IS, which one, do they cause own problems? Thanks, Paul.
  3. Last night was very heavy rain, yes, just found out that rear window was open & leather seat is soaked (not carpet). Anyone got do's/don'ts to sort this? Would like to avoid stains & mould. I reckon: - Towel dry - Air dry with doors open - Close doors & put heating & external air con on full (Searched on this & didn't find any posts.) Thanks, Paul.
  4. Clean, but long overdue... Wife got caught for first time recently in her wee Yaris, not happy!
  5. I asked Lexus about a manual IS300 Sport, got this reply: Unfortunately there are no manual derivatives of the IS300, however we have further enhanced the IS saloon with features that are extremely attractive to customers and visually differentiate from previous model years. 1) New 11-spoke alloy wheels that provide external differentiation between MY04 vehicles and previous model years. 2) Tinted headlamps 3) Optional, factory fitted, colour coded front and rear parking sensors. I will certainly pass your comments on to the relevant departments for consideration, and suggest that you keep in contact with Lexus as further developments are made within the IS range.
  6. I also have the 40Gb Creative Zen player, but don't use it cos I was hoping to use it in the car. DON'T buy the cassette adapter, it is rubbish - I packed mine up after 5mins & sent it back!
  7. Strange topic! But... I've definitely noticed some attitude with drivers of older (knackered!) BMWs or older "luxury" cars in general, which look bad against a newer (well older too) Lexus. I've seen a few older (more than 5yrs) Lexus cars around which still look GOOD! Now I think about it, I haven't seen a knacked out Lexus anywhere! I've driven Merc/BMWs but prefer LEXUS! NOW, I would consider an AUDI, very nice but not the same value for money...
  8. Had it 2 months, nasty kerb damaged my wheel... Where/who are we using to fix up scratched wheels? In South East/ London? Anyone got experience of this, do's & don'ts? Thanks!
  9. The IS200 SE is a 70L tank, for local/town driving I've been getting 300miles on a full tank (manual) - but i've noticed that this is well over 400 miles on the motorway... I had a Nissan Almera 2L GTi, which was a bit better on fuel i'd say (for town trips), and faster, but IS200 much better driving experience! Go get one... new spec with 11 spoke wheels looks very nice indeed!
  10. Bought car from Edinburgh dealer, he mentioned it, had a look, found a fantastic site!!
  11. [in South London area] I found that RSR Tyres' prices were very good! http://www.rsrtyres.co.uk They also do wheels (& fitting at 4 branches). Were checking out when comparing prices!
  12. Update: Got an armrest from another member on here & just finished fitting it today, after hearing £75 quote for fitting from Toyota. It took me over 3hrs, being very careful removing/replacing all the bits. I found the instructions on this site 'useful' & would add that at the final point of removing the console from the front, it is a still held very firmly by clip which you need to push down on before removing. Pleased to get it all back in 1 piece without messing it up, woohoo! :D Looks just like this previously posted pic: http://www.lexusownersclub.com/gallery/album01/armrest3_jpg Anyone need a replacement flip-lid for their original console? (Must be a few about now). :winky:
  13. Yes, 1 look very nice but I would balance that with being easy to clean every Sunday...
  14. Hmmm, I was a cyclist from 19 - 24 Got first car (Corsa) at 27 T'was my 34th 2 weeks ago so bought myself an 2003 IS200 SE :D
