  1. Sorry guys but I've just left the Lexus family!! I wanted more room and practicality and that meant a RX if I had to stay with Lexus. An RX was too much money for me as I wanted loads of toys and something new. So I've gone for a Nissan Pathfinder. Very happy, loads of kit, nice drive and great to look at!!! Thanks for all your help and the LOC is a great forum with top people. I may be back at some point...........
  2. WOW! Great review, it's a masterpiece!! Thanks for putting the time and effort in.
  3. You've got serious problems! I get 29 MPG with everything on (air con etc) and putting my foot down!
  4. I have an iTrip and it's not very good, seems to pick up the auto gear box noise ???? I heard it was because Lexus cars have the aerials on the roof and not in the rear windows.
  5. Hi, I tried the iTrip from the Apple website which is an FM transmitter and it was rubbish! Very annoying as it cost £40!!! :tsktsk: Just bought a cheap cassette jobbie from eBay: iPod Cassette Adaptor IT WORKS A TREAT!!!! I must admit that funky Griffin one looks much better though...... Cheers, Rob
  6. I have, but I'm none the wiser. Its 38" deep to the base of the seats, with them fully slid backards, 38" wide (between the arches) and 30" high at the aperture, but what I couldn't get a feel for was the rake of the rear screen with the boot lid closed, and I thought a forum member might have a bit more experience, OR be able to point me towards some diagrams which might help me. I thought asking questions was the point of a car forum. I must have misunderstood. Sorry. Oh, and I only had chance to look at one with a nasty beige interior. Does the trim in the darker versions look less plasticy? Hi, I don't think so, even in dark trim the interior is really pants! I currently drive an IS200 and thought about upgrading to a RX350 but I really don't like the interior. Way too many buttons and the overall look is very American. The new IS and GS interiors are miles apart. I'm now looking at the Nissan Pathfinder, reliable, spacious, loads of kit and a much nicer interior! Cheers, Rob
  7. I hear you about the old TomTom's being too bulky but the new One series is much better: TomTom One
  8. I bought a TomTom One for the misses last November - superb little bit of kit!!! Not as good as the built-in system from Lexus but still VERY impressive. Also TomTom have a whole host of services you can sign up to, e.g. Traffic, speed cameras etc.
  9. The bigger question is why do Lexus cars still have aerials fitted??? Most other manufacturers have moved away from this old technology...
  10. I drive a IS200 SE Auto. I don't hang around and always have the air con on. Over the last 6 months I've averaged 29 MPG. That's a mixture of town and motorway driving.
  11. I aksed them if the kit was compatible with the IS200, this is their response: "Unfortunately our kit is not currently compatible with European Lexus vehicles. We do have plans to develop a software that would be compatible but it would be several months at the least before such an update was available. I would suggest checking back to our website periodically as all updates will be posted there." Any comments?
  12. THIS IS NOT A VIRUS OR A HOAX - I HAVE PERSONALLY CHECKED. Road Tax Sarah Kennedy was talking about this proposed car tax scheme on Radio 2. Apparently there is only one month left to register your objection to the 'Pay As You Go' road tax. The petition is on the 10 Downing St website but they didn't tell anybody about it. Therefore at the time of Sarah's comments only 250,000 people had signed it and 750,000 signatures are required for the government to at least take any notice. Once you've given your details (you don't have to give your full address, just house number and postcode will do), they will send you an email with a link in it. Once you click on that link, you'll have signed the petition. The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working mother who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit in time you can probably expect a Notice of Intended Prosecution with your monthly bill. If you are concerned about this Orwellian plan and want to stop the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website (link below) and pass this on to as many people as possible. 13. I hope this doesn't put you off too much - Lexus cars are fantastic! And the service I've received from my dealer (Leicester) has been awesome. Keep the faith!!
  14. How much is expensive? My 60k service is due in about 2 months.......
  15. I also have the Parrot 3200 LS-Color Bluetooth kit fitted. Link below: Parrot 3200 LS-Color It is superb!!! Best car kit I have ever had! ICS from Leicester fitted it and did a fantastic job. I've had 4 car kits fitted by them now over the years and they've always been superb. The link is: ICS Group
