  1. Picked up mine in October and to this date only seen 4 others and do keep a watchful eye out on my travels. Seen a white F-sport like mine twice near my home, once was only one car between us in traffic :) one ultra blue f-sport again near home in Poole, black f-sport near home again, and one non F-sport near Aylesbury. Think Poole dealership must be selling a good few of em!
  2. Mines been in for the various updates since delivery in October. Most problems for me are resolved, including stability and speed which were terrible to start with. But the Favourites is a pain still even on E. They are lost whenever the phone syncs with the car following a change to an existing contact. If no contact changes are made, the favourites are rock solid, but as soon as I change someone's phone number or name etc, bang... Favourites gone on next sync. If, as per above post, you turn off the auto sync then you will have a stable favourites list (at least on E) but will become out of date with the phone book. I've had a Samsung S3 and now S5 since owning the car, same with both, Have reported to local Lexus dealer but not sure if it gets fed back to Lexus software development. Seems like such a simple bug to fix in a relatively expensive car. Shame it's taking so long to put right.
  3. I recently purchased a 2007 RX400h SE-L and love it. However the car came fitted with a fixed tow bar which I've decided needs to go now. The Lexus dealer had already capped the electrics off for me knowing it was likely but I didn't remove it entirely in case I had a use. How easy/hard will it be to remove myself? I don't mind getting my hands dirty, but have not taken any bumper off a Lexus before I don't want to get half way through the job only to find a nightmare. Assuming the rear bumper has to come off of course. Thanks for any advice
  4. Had the same problem with mine. Cured by a new parcel shelf being fitted, and also some clips for the roof lining (a known problem in another Lexus model apparently? GS?)
  5. That's great news! Wish I could share it, had mine done about 600 miles ago but no difference at all yet. I seem to really struggle with MPG at the higher speeds for some reason, real effort to squeeze 40mpg even with cruise control in 5th (or 6th) on a motorway run. Do OK on round town only (30-33mpg). Motorway runs I only creep up to 38mpg normally and that's driving very sensibly, mostly with cruise. Suffer most the squeaks and rattles too.. Still, love the toys and the car mostly - just look on with some envy at the petrol autos!
  6. I have a slightly older HTC phone (An Orange SPV M700) which I had some trouble syncing and being fully compatible with the MM kit in a '56 220d. However I found this software for Windows Mobile on the net which did a great job! http://www.jetwaremobile.com Now have a properly sync'ed phone book, caller display, signal strength indicator etc - the lot. Hope this helps
  7. Do those of you that use the DPS4 stuff add it before filling up the tank? And I assume the "single" dose rather than doubling it? Do you use it with every fill up? Will go hunting for some tomorrow!! Thanks for the tip.
  8. I traded in my trusty IS200 Sport this weekend and collected a '56 plate IS220d SE-L MM (19.5k miles). Having read some articles on this forum about consumption and other problems I started to wonder about the decision I'd made! Anyway, the car makes up for any shortcomings it has (so far!). Only driven 100+ miles so far, got 32mpg average in very heavy town traffic on Saturday PM and then on a better run today got an average of 41mpg (mainly A roads and dual carriageway with some cruise control). I was driving with economy in mind, but at the same time wasn't driving like a coffin dodger. From what I've read, I guess I shouldn't expect much more? Question: To get the best, am I right in thinking its best to get up to speed as quickly as possible with gear changes around the 2000-2500 range? Oh, and forget 6th gear it seems! Oh, I checked and the car has not had the 5th injector done but did have an ECU update at the last service.
  9. Bizarre! Put mine back in after work tonight, so I could have the luxury of lights on the way home - and since parking it on the drive 3 hours ago, lights remain off. Mmm.. All I did last night was poke around the fuses for any sign of wet, didn't actually find any.
  10. Got the same/similar problem here! IS200 Sport - 2001. Parked the car yesterday, only to be told later I'd left the lights on... you all know the rest ;) My light relay was making a hell of a noise, so replaced that today in the hope. But no, problem still persists and I'm £60 down already (Lexus Poole). With the ignition ON, and lights turned on - they work OK and the relay (old or new) is quiet and normal. If I select "Auto" the lights just dim up and down, and after a few seconds the relay starts buzzing away. Same if I select "Off" too! With the ignision OFF, it doesn't matter what I select for the lights - they come on after 2-10 seconds. So at the moment I have the relay out, to ensure the lights stay off. I haven't had the windscreen replaced. There is no water in the fuse/relay box, bone dry and clean in there. Haven't checked the one in the drivers footwell yet though ??? Will check there tonight, but having spend out on 4 new tyres this week and I dont fancy a new fusebox too! Doh!
  11. Yeah, thats what I had done, but hence this post - they still dont work - trying to identify possible fuse problem instead
  12. Yeah, both working fine - just went to double check! Strange!?!
  13. I noticed the sidelights had stopped working on my IS200 some days ago, and this evening replaced the bulbs with new ones. But still nothing :( Can't seem to find which fuse is the correct one, and even if there is a fuse that only relates to these lights as nothing else in the car seems to have stopped working!? Thanks for any pointers, before I have to go to Lexus Poole with it otherwise ...
  14. My 60k service is nearly due, and I want to order some plugs rather than the expensive Lexus main dealer option. Which are the best ones to get, good for another 60000 miles? As I read some of the Denso plugs are only good for 30000? Iridium IK16 / IK20 / IK22 ? Thanks!
  15. Haha, very very good point! That starts a new post though now, what is the average age of a lexus driver who also has a house and possibly family??? ← LOL. 31, own house, own business and 2 kids! (Oh, did I mention it's an IT business!). Still get called a pimp when I'm in it minus family though! Also notice when driving around, most other lexus drivers seem 40/50+. Yet this forum seems to have many < 30's - making me feel old
