  1. Got a renewal quote for my rx400 from admiral, not impressed, was £1050... did a bit of searching and went with 1st Central for £500, told admiral I wont be renewing with them as I have found another company for less than half there quote, they offered a £65 discount for being a loyal customer....HMMM how can £65 discount match the quote... told them no obvs...
  2. its defo not a heat shield.. thats not loose at all.
  3. As it says, I have a slight non metalic knocking going over humps and bumps in the road, seems to be coming from nearside rear.. I was thinking shocker but could it be roll bar bush . doesnt sound like a drop link knock ??/ any help or suggestions appreciated ..
  4. My son has a full turbo kit for a IS200 available which is only a year old, hes getting a bigger engine so this kit is up for sale message me if your after one
  5. Bing Videos Not sure if the link above works, but it shows you how to get the cables out ...
  6. I've just had a look at one off a car, there are 2 screws at the top of the handle on the inside of the doorcard, undo them and pull the handle through the door card and twist it sideways back through the hole leaving it attached to the car. no need to remove cables ... I could be wrong tho lol
  7. I'm sure the door handle stays attached to the car when removing the door card, I took one of the rears off and was pretty straight forward, not at home with the car so can't show you.. I think if you remove the felt bit in the arm part there is a screw and another behind the actual handle .
  8. I thought I would add my experience of the IS200d, all the faults with the 220d I didnt want one so I went and bought the 200d, I had it 6yrs and apart from the fueleconomy it was a great car. No faults in all the time of owning it apart from 200 miles from home and decided to go into lkimp mode. As it was night time I decided to drive it back home, I forgot my code reader so couldnt do anything . it was very slow on the hills but once up to speed on the flat it stayed there till the next hill, got home scanned it and it was a generic code saying it could be a few things, cleared it and never had a issue since. Over 2yrs since it happened. My son has it now and he loves it has his daily now. I only got rid as there is no space in the IS ... I now have a RX which is growing on me .. If anyone is after a diesel IS then I would choose the 200d for sure
  9. Hey there, thought I may share with the rx 300 400 owners if they want to keep there standard radio and add dab to it. After some searching I have found a very cheap DAB add on to your music system.. Its from Autoleads ADI-100 missed my dab in the is200d I had so fitted this today, basically plug and play. I wired it to ignition as I didnt want to use the cigarette socket. Hardest part was sorting the aerial out, a Pillar trim was a pain to get off but once off just stick your aerial on and route the wire to the small box, I put the unit behind the lower centre consol wired benhind the cigarette lighter then away you go. Tune it to a fm frequency and happy days .
  10. I have a 2009 RX with ML, I am wanting to add dab radio but not sure which way to go, grom kit or one that uses a fm frequency to send it to the car.. I don't want a expensive solution as I don't think I will be keeping this car long as I want a newer f sport rx.. what have you guys done to add dab radio ???
  11. The cambelt was changed 3 yr ago, about 30k miles so thats safe . I have had to give the car a 3 stage detailing as the paintwpork wasn't the best but it is now . I am happy with it up to now and playing with the economy... best up to now is 34mpg... that will wear off as I do like to give it some and it certainly does go lol
  12. AFter some thought and help of you guys I decided to get myself a RX400h executive limited edition, gave my son my IS200d and used his car to px for this. I have give it a good cleani inside and out as it wasnt up to my standard lol, up to now after using it for a week I am happy with the comfort and the space in this. MPG is around 30 locally. Not had chance to give it a good run yet .. will see how it goes over the next few months and maybe upgrade to the 450 F sport
  13. I have purchased a RX400H executive limited edition, 130k miles and after giving the car a good clean and detailing the black paint I am pleased with it, I did want the 450 f sport but decided for this for now to see if I like a big bus lol I am enjoying the space for sure since changing from IS200d , had it over a week now and locally I am getting 30mpg, I will see how I get on with it, Wheels need a refurb which is my next job
  14. I have decided to get a bigger lexus as the IS 200d is too small now, I wantr to keep the IS as its a cracking car. don't mind one from 06 or RX Fsport from 2012 I would like to know what the spec difference is between the SR and SEL, I want all the toys in it. I have noticed that some dont have the power operated boot. Whats the MPG on the 400H and the 450 F sport.. I know that they are very reliable as I have had Lexus cars for over 15yr thanks in advance
  15. I have the dewalt cordless polisher and it is a great bit of kit, you will also need decent pads and compound. I use micro fibre pads but the foam pads are ace from the clay cloth company, the compound I use is the killerwaxx range also from the clay cloth company.
