  1. Does anyone have experience of the RX400h in the snow? Does it switch to 4WD if the front wheels slip? I have a GS450h which is pretty poor in snow as one would expect with a RWD. My wife has a Subaru Outback which is a great AWD in snow on road conditions but she is considering the RX450h as a replacement next year.
  2. I have had this problem with a number of GS models. I have never had a problem having them replaced. My dealer tells me that Lexus has increased the layers of lacquer applied but the problem persisted. He now says that they have found that the problem is with the inner edge of the spokes which are too sharp and will not take multiple coats of lacquer. Refurbished wheels have the edge buffed off and don't have the problem, this information has been fed back to Japan. Time will tell if they have solved it and if refurbished wheels last.
  3. The manual for the GS 450h SE-L mentions a Bluetooth Phone feature called Speed Tone and describes how to set up numbers and name them. Having set up some numbers I can't find how to access the feature can anyone help please? Speed Dial works OK. EDIT To answer my own question I now understand that Speed Tone can be used during a call to enter tones for access codes etc.
  4. I have found that if the tyre pressure is too high road noise is increased.
  5. 1) My phones have an option to transfer ALL as well as being able to transfer individual phone book entries from either Phone or SIM. I don't know what options the Nokia offers. 2) I either have the phone in my pocket, on my belt or resting in one of the cup holder recesses beside the gear shift and signal is fine, it varies up and down as one would expect. I am on O2 network. 3) I hadn't listened to the phone from the receiving end so I got my wife to phone me from the car and it sounds fine. It does have a speaker phone sound but that's what it is and it does not sound tinny or have echo. 4) My Moonroof operates as per manual. Press open for about 1sec and it opens almost fully. Press open again to open all the way. Press close for about 1sec closes all the way. Up and down also open and close fully if pressed for about 1sec. Are you holding it too long, try a shorter second :)
  6. I filled up after a trip to Inverness, 2940 miles on the clock and average mpg to date 29.65. No problems and a very comfortable drive on long runs :)
  7. I have had 3 MKII GS300s. Always have the air con on which won't help the mpg. The total miles and average mpg for each one 44804 miles 25.57mpg 61980 miles 24.93mpg 20810 miles 21.09mpg the last one did much more city driving in the mix than the first two. So far the MKIII looks better and it is not run in yet.
  8. John, last time I filled my tank was at 1817 miles. My average MPG calculated like you from full tank to full tank is 29.92mpg. Mixed driving city, A and B roads and motorway.
  9. Autocar road test reports 0-60mph 6.9secs http://www.autocar.co.uk/RoadTest_FullData.asp?RT=214784 Lexus UK claim 0-100km/h (62mph) 7.2secs The gear ratios work well for these speeds as only one change is required
  10. Spot on. ← But it will probably invalidate your insurance if not declared
  11. I guess this is relevant to all BT equipped Lexus cars but I have the GS so I posted it here. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/05/10/ca..._myth_debunked/
