  1. Heh, so I'm picking there's no chance of getting somewhere in New Zealand that will do an alignment with the same level of attention to detail that you an your 'trusted' partners show... I had one done recently when I got some new tread, they didn't adjust anything despite the fact I'd expressed concern about the scrubbing out of the inside edges of the front tyres... Most of the angles were within the factory limits, so I guess there policy is not to optimise it if it's within the factory range. Oh well.
  2. No RCAs, but there is a DIY guide out there somewhere that shows how you can pull apart the amp and solder some in... It's an interesting system when you start to read up on it - IIRC the headunit and amp act more like one system rather than a headunit sending straight sound signals to the amp it has some other data going back and forth... Anyway, search these forums, it's probably here, failing that you ought to be able to pick it up though Google.
  3. Some worthwhile reading here and here. Sorry I'm to lazy to repost the info here. :)
  4. For some reason I've seen a couple of papers on this, I forget how it was tested, but other than in colour-blindness situations the differences in perception were only slight (<1% sort of thing). i.e. My green is your green, not red... ;)
  5. Sounds like mine... I'm probably going to do my tyres this week, inside edge is well scrubbed out. My rear shocks are definitely getting sloppy, so I'll do all four fairly soon too. If I remember I'll let you know how I get on...
  6. Hey, that's awesome - if you get in a frontal impact your bonnet will get pushed back through your windscreen more easily and decapitate you...
  7. Oi, 'nuff of that eh! Well, it is a colour that seems to polarise people...
  8. What's wrong with black? Or are you commenting on the reflection of the red sign in the background?
  9. This is the high-spec version of the dial. Usually they just come with double sided tape so you can stick them on your dash - this one comes with wires as well, so that will be great for big hp gains.

That's the kind of positive thinking we like - mod, mod, mod! ;)
  11. Okay, here's me trying to work it out. I've drawn lines to where it appears the wires are connected based on the photos MacRS200 sent me. The "C:" denotes what the camcon calls the wire, and the "E:" is what the SXE10 wiring diagram tells me it is. The green ones are those that seem to make sence. Red seems really wrong, and orange is only a little confusing... For further reference, here's the deceptively simple diagram from the camcon manual:
  12. No worries Noel. The information was originally posted on the NZ Altezza Club which I can't link to from here since this forum replaces any link to that club... Anyway, here's a new pic with the right info highlighted: EDIT: Pic removed since Noel has now posted it at the top. :) :)
  13. Thanks Am, I'll see if I can work it out with Neil's help.
  14. I posted this into an existing Camcon thread in the TDi subsection, but things seem quiet over there, so I hope no one minds me trying my luck here. I'm having trouble figuring out exactly which rev and VVTi wires to tie into as there are several listed on the ECU wiring diagram... It calls for the following tie-ins: A/F This looks like B21 VVT-i Wire B5 (OCV+) or B7 (OCV2+)? I think the Camcon only does the exhaust cam, so that would be B5 (OCV2+)? There's also B4 & B6 which are the negative (OCV-) ones.. RPM + There's three 'Revolution' signals to choose from as well as a Tacho one... Which will the Camcon want? RPM - as above IG Power Think this one is easy - wire E10 I am referring to the RS200 6MT ECU. Any info would be appreciated, cheers.
  15. Wrong.. ;) L-Spec Altezzas have leather. And I'm going to have to disagree with the comment that Altezzas are noisy and unrefined - sure theoritically the 4-cyl 3S-GE may not deliver the power as smoothly as a 6-cyl does, but really it makes little difference. You can still drive the powerful 3S-GE smoothyl and quietly. But where's the fun in that? ;)
