  1. Hi Guys, Ive got a small leak from one of the pipes in front of the radiator, don't know if its the actual pipe or the rubber pipe or a seal so I was thinking of using slick 50 power steering fluid cos it says it repairs leaks, any comments on that ? cc

  3. Hey MacRS200, Thanks for the reply. Have to say that i think your right about the gap so i sifted through the forum looking for clues and think it may be something to do with the pads or the calipers, i dont think they have been put back together properly. So im going to get my mate to have another look and see if he notices anything he missed. Do you know if anything needs replaced when you change pads, i mean things like those little shims and metal plates, they all look ok though. Still scratchin' my head .
  4. Guys, I got a set of mintex front discs and pads, me and ny friend who is a mechanic by trade fitted them, they work great but i get a clunk from them. (both sides) Its a bit weird though, let me explain.. It only happens once when i touch the breaks for the first time either going backwards or forwards, ie when i reverse out my drive and stop (clunk) then when i pull forward and hit the breaks (clunk) , after that it wont do it again until i go to park again. Does anyone know the exact measurement of the holes on the discs cause they seem to be to big and the disc moves a bit on the hub, i would say that the gap is 2mm from the threads to the edge of the hole on the disc, i cant measure them up to the OEM's as i stupidly ditched the old ones. The guy i got them off sent me a new set of discs when i told him about this, but the holes on them are the same. Im at a loss. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Ive had my IS V reg for 4 months and all i use is cdr's, never really had any problems except for like condensation when its been cold, but took it out and gave it a rub and they have been fine :)
  6. Tell you what mate , thats some quote, im 36y/o with 8yr no claims and i pay 380 with esure. went to that privelage site and got a quote of over 400 so i think your getting a bargain . Make sure you put in the right details lol :D
  7. Has anyone tried michelan pilot sport ? I saw them for £130 a piece and was wondering if thats good coz i had a set of michelans on my last car, they werent sport tyres but they lasted 35000 miles.
  8. Sorry to hear about you and your mates car stu, up my way here in glasgow the kids are a bunch of bas****s, they like nothing better than to smash windows and kick off door mirrors, it happens every weekend in my street. It is so bad that i wasnt even going to buy my lexus for fear of damage, eventually i found an old woman up the end of my street who had a drive way and she was willing to let me use it (thanks helen). Wouldn't it be great if we could electrify the cars, that would teach the little f :tsktsk: rs.

    Oil

Ive always used mobil 1, i used to use it in my old fiat diesel and even in that i only had to change the oil once a year, it always passed the emissions test even though it was 10 years old. When my lex is due for its service im gony get mobil 1 again, its fully synthetic too :)
  10. Hey Marcus did you get your timing belt done at the 100k service and if you did how much did the whole lot cost :tsktsk: mate ?
  11. I got my sport with 62k on the clok and im glad i did coz from what ive been reading on the forum is that it will cost you an arm and a leg for a 60k service lol. So just make sure its got a F/S/H, oh and the sport is cooler :D
  12. Thanks guys, time to make some decisions
  13. The guy never told me the name of the springs but if the ones you are selling are 160 then 230 fitted aint bad, i will go back to the shop and ask the make. What kind of price we talkin prolex for the induction kit ?
  14. Ive had my Is200 sport now for 2 months so im thinking of some mods, already got the illuminated door panels (cooool) and now thinking of an induction kit but ive not had much luck finding it. After searching for ages i eventually found one called a powertec sl1000 at a cost of £230. Has anyone ever heard of this or know of any others ? Oh i was also quoted about £250 for a set of spring (fitted) that lower the car by 30mm, does that sound ok ?
