  1. This may sound cheeky, but has it been after the cars wet or damp weather ?,could be h/brake shoes rubbing or sticking due to light surface rust.
  2. Welcome !,what trim was your friends car ?,because i think the lower trim levels didn't have the amplifier behind the glovebox, hence why the volume is very low,or the other reason could be someone fitted a by-pass cable on the amplifier, that's why the cheap cd player worked ok.If you take the glovebox out and look towards the pillar, the amplifier will be a plain silver unit (not marked like an aftermarket amplifier) if it's there i'd see if the original loom is there and plug it all back in and remove the by-pass loom,if it's not there you have two options, fit the original plugs back and get a head unit from a non amplified car or just fit a better aftermarket head unit,HTH.
  3. Standard size is 225/40/18,this is the only size really due to the width of the wheel.
  4. I've got 8x18 E.T.45 and on the front they have about 10mm clearance and that's the wheel and not the tyre,so you have to be careful, there was a thread on here between me and another member and i think he went originally for a wider wheel and had problems.
  5. It could be the pad backing plates are a fraction too small and moving in the caliper,Vx sell a 'cheaper' pad as part of a pad and disc trade set and they did this.
  6. Rota do some nice wheels,i went for their "bronze" finish and it looks good against the navy of my car
  7. If you look at the bottom of the screen where the wipers sit, you'll see a couple of wires in the glass,it only really heats the bottom of the screen to save the wipers freezing, not the whole screen like Fords, the sensor on the interior mirror is for the anti-dazzle function,HTH.
  8. If the h/brake is shoes inside the disc it might be worthwhile putting it half on and having a slow short drive, due to the design the linings don't get a regular clean the same as other h/brakes.
  9. Not tried the s/sport,but it's the replacement for the Ps2,and they were very good, just one point though, like all the tyres in it's group it's not very happy below seven degrees.
  10. According to my instructions,as you look at the f/box, the top left connector (next to the large blue fuse) has a thick white wire which will be the one you want,HTH.
  11. All four corners are adjustable on the IS,it could be when the bearings were done something was disturbed, but the best thing to do is book into WIM or a garage recommended on their site (there's a few threads about) and get it sorted properly,as a normal tracking mainly deals with the fronts.
  12. If the Lexus uses a similar system to others, the sensor is built into the valve and very easy to damage during a tyre change, why not ask the dealer to rectify the fault as a condition of sale ?.Also the tints need to come off the front windows, too dark and it makes the car a plod magnet !
  13. I know this has been mentioned before, but to make things clear, are you using the original Lexus wheel nuts and are they tapered seat or the "washer" type as on the aero wheels ?,because i'd be very suprised to find a set of aftermarket wheels using Lexus "washer" nuts, the specs for the wheels are the same for 90% of Jap cars,so why use an unusual nut ?,if it is down to the wrong nuts it would tie in to it happening just after the tyres being fitted.
  14. Very nice, the bronze works well with the silver !
