  1. No brainer Keep the 430 its in a different league Just sold my 430 for a 460 - major mistake 430 has more room, is quieter, has more space, is more comfortable, feels more luxurious, nicer to drive, I could go on and on and on.... enjoy
  2. It was on sale at Lexus Stockport it is the only one in the country, in silver, 29k miles for jus under |£29 k
  3. Hi everyone I have a 2007 LS460 SE-L which has the 19 speaker DVD system. Problem - Every time I switch on the ignition and start the car the rear DVD screen deploys - it is simple enough to close from the drivers seat but irritates the hell out of me. Question - How do I stop it deploying on start up? There is a setting under display called screen setting, which I have set to off and exited the screen by pressiing ok but it does not save the setting, next time I start up down it comes. I have also switched it off using the settings on the screen itself, same result. Anyone else had this problem? Please help. Wish I had kept my 2001 LS430 not so many toys but more room and much smoother and quieter
  4. Hi you dont need to replace the seal after the silicone job, Some early mark 3s have a habit of stalling normally after a dual carrageway drive when you are coming to a stop ( could be your throttle body needs cleaning as it is low mileage & presumably been used for short trips) you could also switch your aircon on, that would bring the revs up on tickover & stop the stalling. best of luck Mark
  5. :D My interior is very similar and the lower panel did indeed clip out which gave me access to the switches, job done, many thanks Chris :D Tried the scraper, the lower panel came out which gave me access to the switches, job done, for free which maskes a welcome change, many thanks, Chris
  6. Hi My interior is almost exactly the same as this one, the switches are mounted in the right hand of the two small panels directly beneath the cd changer, there are three switches in the panel, it is the the panel which in this picture is masked by the gear shift. I have tried to ease it out with a wide bladed screwdriver, the top part pulls forward slightly and that is it, I am frightened of breaking it and having a big bill to replace it and having the problem of matching the colour, but thanks anyway Chris
  7. I had same problem on my LS430 Solution - Make sure the electric mirror adjuster switch is set to left or right position, if you select the centre position it disables the dipping on the mirror when reverse is selected
  8. Hi all Have had my LS430 for just over a year, fantastic car. I have a problem which hopefully one of you may be able to solve I am sure it is a simple solution really. Under the in dash CD changer there is a panel containing three switches, gearbox power snow ect, ride height etc. I have managed to push one of the switches through the panel (dont ask) my problem - how do I remove the wood trim panel in order to replace the switch - its a 50 mile round trip to the nearest dealer (Lexus Hanley) couldnt have happened before they serviced it, could it. Any assistance would be gratefully received Thanks
  9. Thank you for replying. No need to be jealous the LS400 is a tremendous car. Thats what I was looking for. Had mine three months now, it gets better every day, I love it, even the wife likes it which is unusual she doesnt normally like my choice of cars, and youngest daughter (18) is happy cos it doesnt make us look poor! she is the snob not me, I just thank my lucky stars I could get one. Thanks for the advice I'll give Wolverhampton a miss based on that - I dont like the area anyway. I bought mine from Lexus Bracknel, nothing was too much trouble excellent service particularly from Mike Dale, they even sent an RX300 to collect us when we took delivery, 300 miles round trip at their expense - thank you very much would recommend them to anyone, sadly they're just a bit far away to go for a service.
  10. Nice one criss, what sort of economy is she giving? ← She is quite economical I am pleasantly surprised, about 28.5 on a run mainly on dual carriageways motorways and good A roads at sensible speeds, drops to around 23 at home which is a mix of very short (1 mile trips) and to and from work (12 miles each way). Much better than the Jag not quite as good as the Merc but then the engine was only half the size.
  11. Thanks I didnt know there was one at Hanley i'll make some enquiries, the one I was thinking of is on the main A34 London almost in Newcastle under Lyme. I'll give Chris a ring when the time comes Chris
  12. Hi - This is my first post . I have been reading the forums for about a year now and based upon the advice in the forums I have now bought my first Lexus, a Canterbury blue, 27000 miler, 2001 LS430 - what a fantastic car, a replacement for my Jaguar Sovereign (nice car) and the Merc E Class 240 which replaced the Jag (sold after 3 weeks - say no more). Have any members any comments re Lexus Stoke or Lexus Wolverhampton who are the nearest dealers to me as one of them will be required to do the service when it is next due. Thanks for the advice keep it coming.
