  1. There is a set for sale on the Facebook group gone up this evening for £350.
  2. http://www.meisterr.co.uk/products/zeta-r/
  3. This could be the back plate rubbing on the discs. I had this on mine when I changed the discs, only when turning and you will only hear it at low speeds. The plates usually need cleaning to stop the scrape.
  4. You can polish it but just don't expect it to look chrome or shiny, although it will look cleaner. I cleaned the entire back box and tip (yea sad I know) using Chemical Guys orange degreaser, then autosol with a wire brush. Box came up like new and people were asking if I just had a new exhaust put on, so it does notice. The tip however didn't come up so clean and silver, but looked better. Worth the effort, then just keep it clean as you go.

    Trottle Body

I had the throttle body cleaned on my 2001 IS200 a little while ago due to lumpy idle. It was a bit better but soon suffered with flashing TRC and EML. I bought a second hand Throttle body which cured the problem as just couldn't get the idle correct with the old one. It's better now but just not the same, when it's first started it revs up to 2000rpm and takes time to settle, it now doesn't idle as smooth as it used all of the time. Total nightmare and seems incurable.
  6. I recently sold a set of 11 spokes in anthracite in fairly good condition. I got £210 for them as a guide. The anthracite finish are more sought after, doubt you will get more than £200 if they need a refurb.
  7. Of course it's legal. It's been law for all new manufactured cars to have daytime running lights. The basics are you will need to either add auxiliary dedicated DRLs. Use your main beam with reduced voltage or add a dual filament bulb to your indicators by chopping off the current bulb holder and replacing it.
  8. Well done mate, halogen bulbs are like driving with candles in your lights!
  9. A link from the seller who you bought it off.
  10. I bought from eBay a little while ago and it was crap! Have you got a link this one look ok? Easy to put the key in?
  11. I've never heard of that stuff. I masked my hubs and rusty sections and sprayed them matt black. Very time consuming but worth the effort.
  12. Ok I've done some homework before you all shout out SEARCH :-) So I just want to clarify before I start this myself and chop wires what I need to do the brake mod ONLY no tails. 2x diodes which i have just bought P600A 50v, 8A wire to run from the diode to the brake wire in the tail, and some insulting tape etc for protection. I'm a bit confused what to do with the wire at the tail light end? I do not need to touch the rear fogs with dual filament holders and bulbs unless I want the tails too. Correct?
  13. They will look great fully polished. But they will take some looking after!
  14. Now you mention it mine sounds like that too, never noticed before. Mine is going tomorrow for front lower rear suspension arms so I'll see if they know what it is.
  15. Ash, you can't go wrong with a set of HIDs mate. Forget all the claims on brighter bulbs and better night vision no halogen bulb is really that great. The blue ones and coated bulbs are even worse, the coating takes away it's full brightness. Get yourself a set if HIDs from somewhere like HIDS4U, don't use eBay as the kits can be poor quality and the beam pattern very poor, not to mention the colour. Easy to think eBay against the pricier online stores but trust me, I've tried a few. I got mine from HIDs4U, the ones with the beam block that helps light scatter. Even though the IS has an offset bulb it still makes a difference. I have 5000k, the best likeness and colour temp in relation to OEM 4000k. Anything more look too blue in my opinion and again you begin to loose the benefit and purpose. Buy from here http://www.hids4u.co.uk/?gclid=CIeSktzszL0CFekBwwod71sANA and you'll wonder how you managed without them. When I drive a car with halogen bulbs now it's like having candles in the headlights!
  16. Thanks mate. It's more or less bog standard never think people really want to see that, the car mod fund always seems to go elsewhere. Keep it clean and well serviced, can be a bit OCD with it :-) Diamond cutting is very pricey, but worth it for the final OEM look. But they take some looking after. Have you considered the hyper silver look or shadow chrome. There are places that can do the inners a darker silver than the rim to give the impression of a machined face.
  17. Mate I'm exactly the same. Mechanical, detailing, general spraying etc I'm not so bad. But electrical, no thank you. Cut the wrong wire you could end up with no electrics at all. So if anyone fancies helping us out for a few bob, beer tokens or vouchers etc I'm in Essex :-) Please!
  18. Couldn't get this pic in the above post, not easy to do from iPhone. Not great quality either.
  19. I recently did exactly the same. Got rid of my anthracite 11 spokes and put back on the original 5 spokes after getting them back to OEM sparkle silver and diamond cut. My IS is also black and in my opinion is the best suited wheel for the IS. As well as Aero's which I alternate as the mood takes me. This is mine after about a month with the refurbed 5 spokes. I'm OCD now, park 3 foot from the kerb, clean them every other day (till the novelty wears off, haha!) Crap tyres on at the moment as it got them with the refurb, I'll wear them down a bit before upgrading.
  20. This post makes for a great read. Thanks for all the comments. To me there is something about the LS which makes it different to all the other cars in it's class of that era. Maybe it's because when you buy a make of car you can buy in to the marque or brand if you like. You become automatically aware of only those cars on the road and in turn they grow on you. I can remember when i just passed my driving test in 1995, i was besotted with the Mk1 GS300 Sport, always said I'd own one. I have always just liked large, powerful, luxury saloon cars and I suppose the LS is the best you can get. Well for the budget available of course. Trying to find a good one is a mission though, especially those DHP Spec. Keep enjoying yours guys.
  21. I have never actually driven one and I only want one because i've never heard a bad comment about them from anyone apart from the look. And the owners on here cannot rate them highly enough. When I show the mrs and say I wouldn't mind one she says it looks like a boat.
  22. Check out this advert on the bay. http://bit.ly/1mIMVbj I always keep an eye on the LS's for sale as I would really like one knowing how fantastic they are. But is this really what people that don't know about them think? Is this their opinion? What do people say about your LS? I'd love a black MkIII With DHP pack.
  23. Ditto. Few beer tokens are up for grabs here ;-)
