  1. Hello to you all. .... I own a 1995 LS400, can someone tell me if fully synthetic oil, is ok in my car.... Thank you.. Royzels.
  2. I have a 2007 LS460 4 door saloon and a new CT200h. I live in Jersey in the Channel Islands and I took my LS460 for a service. It has not yet done 40,000 miles. The garage rang me and said that I needed 4 x top arms and 4 lower arms at a cost of about £2,600. Reading on the forum I checked ebay and can get top arms for £49.99 plus delivery. A massive saving on the parts of about £2,200. My garage had ordered and paid for the parts to a lexus dealer although they have not yet been dispatched. Has anyone knowledge on whether my garage could cancel the order and ask for a refund and has anyone had experience of ordering this type of part from what appears to be a reputable company A to Z Motors. I realise that these parts are probably made in China but if they last even a year or so less and I need to change again it is still a massive saving. Thoughts, advice and comments would be great.

  4. Hi guys, I am currently owning a 2006 IS220d with about 145k kms (90k miles) in its ODO. As I am driving the car 85% in the city I would like to sell it now and I am looking for a 2006-2007 RX400h. As for the IS goes I love the car but I also feel this diesel is not ideal for city driving and there are some expensive parts that might need a change if I drive the car in the city. Plus I also need to mention I drive only about 9-10k miles (15k kms) in a year. As I had the opportunity to drive the RX for 3 days I already know it is a great car to drive. The IS is beatiful from outside but has hardly enough space inside, the RX is quite the opposite: not really my cup of tea as far the design goes, but plenty of space inside. I have a few questions to you: -What I am looking for is a 2006-2007 RX with about 120-150k kms (75-95k miles) in the ODO. Do you think that much a mile is still ok to buy a car? -Based on what I have read so far the RX might have one big issue which is the inverter. Is this a big risk? I mean is this a commom problem? Are there any other big issues with this car? -What about the tires? How often do you need to change them? -The batteries: Based on what I have read so far the batteries are still ok in almost all RX cars. Do you think this is true and that I do not need to worry about this issue? -Any other advices? Bonus question: -I have never really read about this, but do you think that the big battery could cause some "medical" issues? I mean your kids are sitting on a big bunch of batteries... Thank you guys. Ps: Sorry for any possible grammatical mistakes, hope you still understand :)
  5. I bought a carbon bonnet, back in feb, on ebay from unique_clothing who also trade as JDM parts or something, but soon after decided to sell the car so never even fitted the bonnet, I just put it back on ebay as my 14 days change of mind had passed it sold and I checked and sent it, it arrived at its new owners a day later than it should have but thats not a big deal, anyway he has fitted it and sasys the panel gaps are huge and wants a refund, theres little I can do given that the bonnet is a cheaper than usual carbon fibre job I assume the chap is telling the truth and it doesn't fit well, I have asked him to carefully wrap it back up in its original box and return it and agreed I will refund if it is simply a bad fit, warning that any damage would mean no refund meanwhile I have opened a dispute with unique_clothing so I can hopefully return it to them, but i'm way over my 45 days seller protection, sale of goods act is on my side if the item is not fit for purpose, as its only 3 months since purchase, but what if ebay sides with the seller as I didn't respond earlier? how easy is it to get money back from an online business??
  6. Hi everyone. Ive just joined due to considering purchasing my first lexus after owning a prelude vti which wasn't practical enough and then a 99 e39 523i, lovely car but was too sluggish compared to the prelude. A friend of mine has a 97 gs300 sport mk1 for sale in black with gold badges, the wider rear wheels (which need refurbishing) which he has owned it for the past 4 years or so. Its done 167,000 miles with full service history, 3mths mot left has a couple of issues which are are a cracked rear light, quite a big scrape on the rear bumper and hole in one of the backboxes from what already seen. He is asking for £650. Wheel Refurbishing and bodywork isn't a problem as im in the trade :) I have a couple of questions for you mk1 owners or anyone with knowledge in purchasing one of these... 1.Exhaust avalibility - Do the standard gs300 and sport share the same exhaust? 2.Common issues to look out for before buying? 3.Fuel consumption due to mileage? Im aware the lexus will be thirstier than my previous cars but with 167k on the clock what sort of economy should i expect as ive been told he gets 70-80 miles locally on £20 which sounds a bit too good to be true. 4.Comparision to the E39 523I Auto and 97 Honda Prelude Vti Auto if possible? Comfort? Power? Handling? 5. Previous owner maintained the car well and only really used on motorway BUT i know for a fact it has been driven hard during his ownership. Is this something to worry about on a GS? Sorry for such a long first post but if all seems good im hoping to buy it this weekend and get started working on the issues the car has and bring it back to its former glory Any advice would be appreciated
