  1. A couple of weeks ago I managed to damage the rear bumper of my car with the metal dropbolt mounting of my driveway gates which put 2 small puncture holes into the middle of the bumper. No scuffs but 2 very neat and annoying marks. Being pearlescent white I was dreading the cost of repairs and the quality of finish. My local Chipsaway Franchise in Gloucester seemed to have some good reports so I paid Stuart the owner a visit. He said that the pearlescent would require more painting of the bumper than usual to get a good match and blend in and quoted a price of £192 inclusive. The car went in on Monday at 8am and I collected it at 4.30pm. I am over the moon with the result. Even shining a bright light on the paint to get the flakes to pop doesn't reveal the signs of any repairs. You would never know that the paint isn't factory finish. I would definitely recommend him for minor paint correction.
  2. The bodywork is pretty bad on my IS200 I picked up last week. It doesn't bother me too much, I like a project and I live in a city full of narrow streets so worrying about perfect bodywork is pointless. By far the worst is this deep dent on the rear. Any advice on how to best go about repairing this? Hammer it out as best as I can, bodyfiller then paint? For now I've just removed the loose paint and put a layer of rustoleum paint on, but obviously this is just temporary. [/
  3. Hello. I am new to the club and this is my first posting. I hope someone out there can help me. I have just purchased a 2006 GS300 SE-L in Canterbury Blue . It has a number of stone chips, probably about a dozen, on the bonnet I would like to do something about. Can anyone advise - Bonnet respray or chip repair specialist ? Approximate cost of a bonnet respray ? Can anyone recommend a Bodywork Repairer in the North West. I live near Blackpool ?Thanks Stewart
  4. Scrotes Vs Is200

Last weekend I went to visit a friend in Royal Leamington Spa. Parked my IS200 in a council car park and came back to find out that some scrote/s decided to Starsky & Hutch it all over my car ! The roof is warped though I have managed to pull 3 of the major dents out myself, but I've got 6 very visible flaws in the roof now, they also rolled over the front of my car scratching the bonnet and nearside wing also denting the bonnet in two places in the process, one of them right on one of the folds too. To add insult to injury they even ripped off one of my roof strips - the :tsktsk:! The police are checking the CCTV in the car park but I’m not holding my breath for them to be able to actually ID the blighter/s. Took it to Lexus Stoke (my local dealership) but the price they were asking for was > £1000 and would mean an insurance jobby, which I’m really not keen on doing as I don’t have protected no claims. So I’m getting it done at an independent bodyshop in Fenton which was recommended to me by a couple of mates. I’ll post some after pictures when it’s been filled and re-sprayed. Really not a happy bunny right now though :megaangry:.
