  1. After washing my car late one afternoon last week, I noticed that one of the headlights had stopped working. Since I was travelling to the continent the following day at 5am, I had no choice but to live with it. However, the following morning, I found that the light was working again... and it has not failed since. Not sure what happened, although I suspect water may have something to do with it. Somehow. My car is a SE-I. HID low beam with halogen high beam. The bulb that (temporarily) failed was the HID. My questions are as follows: - What is the life expectancy of HID bulbs (my car is a 2009 with 105,000 miles)? - Are replacements a DYI or dealer job? - How much are replacement bulbs?
  2. front fog lamp

Got a bulb out on drivers side front fog lamp but can't see how to get to replace it as has the Areo spoiler. Has anyone done this before? Assume the bulb is just a normal white one and the cover makes it shine yellow?
  3. Hello, Does anyone know if there is a safe/viable LED alternative to the existing, rather dim, interior boot lights for an RX300/350? I've tried searching for something that could replace a boot bulb ( 12V 5W festoon/dome bulb 28mm ) but with no luck... Piers
  4. 2011 Reversing Lights

Hello all I've had a seatch but can't seem to find a suitable bulb or set to replace the reversing lights on my 2011 CT200h. I want to improve the rear visibility via the reversing camera at night, so is that the number plate bulbs or the "actual" reversing lights? Does anyone have some nice and easy replacement options? Thanks in advance Mark
  5. Two stupid questions... Now it's darker, I noticed last night that three of my doors on the inside, have those little courtesy lights by the door handle ( and footwells etc ) but my driver door doesn't. Is that intentional(?) or is it more likely that a bulb has gone? If so, how does one change the bulb, or does it require some bizarre faceted, diamond encrusted device to do it?
  6. Just wondering really... How long do HID lightbulbs tend to last? Has anyone had to replace them, how much did they cost? Do you find them bright enough?
  7. Led Fog Lamps

I want to change the original front fog lights on my SC430 to a strip of LEDs, but do not know whether they would be bright enough. What is the LED wattage or brightness equivalent to give the same brightness as the original 55-Watt H3 bulb, please? (Forgive me if this is a stupid question. I know nothing about wattage and the various types of bulbs.)
  8. Hi, What bulb type is used in the front indicator inside the headlamp? Thanks
  9. Hi, I have been trying unsuccessfully past couple of days to replace the right hand side indicator bulb housed inside the headlight. Would appreciate if someone has a step by step guide on how to do this please? I had taken it to a local garage last week and after fiddling it around for 30 mins they too gave up.
  10. I've seen the question a number of times, so thought I'd do a quick write up being as I had to have a look at mine today. Remove top vent tray. Takes a good pull... Remove lower switch panel and unplug switches noting plug location. Again just pulls forwards with a good tug... Remove bolts holding stereo and climate control frame in place using a 10mm socket. Two at bottom and two at top. The whole unit will then pull forwards. Then undo fixing screws holding climate control unit into stereo cage. The stereo cage will need to be loosened off too so the unit can be pulled out. An 8mm socket is useful for this. Or one side of the frame can be completely removed to make it easier. Unplug unit... With unit on work bench or similar, undo the screws at the back. Two each end. Then undo the pull tabs around the edge of the unit to enable splitting the unit... You will then see this. The bulb holders are spread out over the circuit board. There are three for main backlighting coloured grey in this picture. The smaller black ones together at the bottom of the picture about centre of the circuit board are for the clock backlighting. Replace bulbs! Hope that helps! Bugger just noticed I've done a typo on the title. Why can't we edit the title? Any mods wish to put me right?
  11. Was wondering if I was to change my light bulbs to xenon lookalike what bulbs would I need to buy... I own a MY2010 60 plate Lexus IS220d SE pretty basic.. Not sure if its got plain normal bulbs already in there or halogen
