  1. Hi All, I thought I'd come on this forum for some help and advice and possibly finding out if I am getting misinformed by the dealer. Two weeks ago while driving myLexus IS250 2012 on the motorway engine light came on together with TRC OFF warning. After some reading I found out that TRC OFF was a throw off warning , it just meant the car has gone into "safe mode" per say. Took the car to closest garage whom advised to get the car checked out by the dealer as it something with the fueling system and they don't want to risk it , can't blame them. The dealer carried out a vehicle diagnostic report and reported that the problem is with High Pressure Fuel Pump (first report attached). Quoted the cost of repairs at £1500 including parts and throttle body wash as the issue was possibly caused by bad fuel. We agreed to carry out the repairs. The dealer drove the car back to our house a couple of days later after the repairs were complete. All seemed good untill I took the car onto the motorway the next morning. As soon as I started doing above 30mph , the same engine light came back on. Called the dealer back and they took the car in again. They ran the vehicle diagnostics again (second report attached) and claimed that the issue is most likely with a faulty sensor. This strikes me as weird and I am now suspicious whether the fuel pump needed replacing at all and whether it wasn't just a sensor issue. Too much of a coincidence for the car to break down again the next morning as soon as it was taken onto the motorway. Now the car is with them for almost a week and they claim they are doing final checks. Looking at the first report there is a message saying DTC monitors are incomplete , mayb somebody can shed some light into what does that exactly mean? Does that mean its not a full report and possibly the sensor was the only issue here? Thanks in advance.
  2. I have a 2006 IS250 and I smashed my passenger (left) side wing mirror. The outer casing has a crack and there's bits of the motor missing. Ordered a used one from eBay and it only has 1 plug. Mine has 2! The ad said is220d and is250 but clearly my model has some higher specs... Or something How do I fix this? I can't find another one online. This is the matching colour and model numbers on the bottom were the same.. Can anyone advise please? Thank you

  4. Despite what my profile information may say I do not own a Lexus… yet – I’m on the lookout though. Today I visited a Lexus dealership in Cardiff. Quite an unusual experience for me as I never really look at main dealers, instead prefer to use an independent that my family have used for a few years, however they cannot get their hands on a Lexus for me at the present time. I am looking to purchase a IS250 but have a few questions · I would love to have something which is 2010 or newer; is there any benefit in looking for a newer/older car? · What is the difference between all the specs? With all of the other cars I have looked at it’s fairly obvious but with Lexus this seems less so. · What are they like on fuel? · Is servicing expensive? · I did ask about the timing belts/chains and he said that they would not need to be changed on this until 100k miles. Are there any big service items needed? · Is it worth taking the extra warranty? I took out an F sport for a drive as this was the only IS they had there. The car itself was nice enough but didn’t have leather. The dealer let me take it on a fast road for me to ‘put my food down’. I have to say coming from a Volvo S40 D5 diesel the Lexus did feel a bit gutless but I’m not sure if I was used to the turbo of the Volvo whooshing me along. We did have a quick chat about the CT200 but the sales guy did say that it would be a bit tiresome in comparison to the IS (in terms of power). When he checked the computer to see what other options were around he did come up with an IS250, 2011 on a 61 plate. Its the Advance spec with 47,000 miles on it for £12750. Does this seem high? Thanks in advance!
  5. New Lexus owner!

Hello Fellow Lexus drivers !! My name is Patrick and since August 2015 i own a 2006 Lexus is250. Before this Lexus i was a total Peugeot fan. Ive driven all kinds of Peugeots. - Peugeot 107 (supercharged) - Peugeot 108 VTi 1.2 - Peugeot 406 Coupe And now im driving a Lexus. Well. When i made the test drive in de IS i was sold directly! When i came back i ordered the IS directly and then the waiting could begin. After 1 week of waiting i picked my Lexus up from the Lexus dealership and there it was. 1 nice looking IS250. About my Car. Its a Business luxury without the satnav Everything is stock on the car yet. I like to Detail cars as a hobby. And im most curious what fellow detailing hobbyists use as hardware. Ive done my car in November slightly whit the D.A.P and this summer i hope to send the scratches to heaven :P To do list: -Xenon 6000k -19" IS-F rims -Spoiler (trunk) -Wrap steer instruments -New exhaust (need your expertise on that 1 ) -Blinding the windows. 6. Hi All, I have had my Lexus IS250 for 3 months now and love it however I have a problem with the windscreen going all misty. The weather is starting to go crap in London now and I am worried I will find it more difficult in the comnig winter months, so any help will be much appriciated. So the porblem is that my windscreen gets all misty and the only way it clears quickly is by press in the Windscreen button, but this puts the fan on full blast and aircon comes on so gets very cold. The Lexus is always on recirculate mode on the climate control, so dont know if this is a problem. Please can you advise on the best setting to keep the windscreen clear at all times. I was driving back from Ipswich the other day and it was raining. I had my wife and child with me but to keep the window cleared we had the aircon on for 1.5 hours. Surly there must be another way....please help. Thank you
