  1. A couple of weeks ago I managed to damage the rear bumper of my car with the metal dropbolt mounting of my driveway gates which put 2 small puncture holes into the middle of the bumper. No scuffs but 2 very neat and annoying marks. Being pearlescent white I was dreading the cost of repairs and the quality of finish. My local Chipsaway Franchise in Gloucester seemed to have some good reports so I paid Stuart the owner a visit. He said that the pearlescent would require more painting of the bumper than usual to get a good match and blend in and quoted a price of £192 inclusive. The car went in on Monday at 8am and I collected it at 4.30pm. I am over the moon with the result. Even shining a bright light on the paint to get the flakes to pop doesn't reveal the signs of any repairs. You would never know that the paint isn't factory finish. I would definitely recommend him for minor paint correction.
  2. 2007 GS300LE paintcode

Hi I need to repair and repaint the front splitter on my GS. Paint code is 1E0. When I try to order paint, there seem to be two different colours, flint mica or dark grey. Anyone any idea which is correct? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi all I have a new NX on order which, after much deliberation with the other half, will be in Velvet Black. I know that being black and non metallic, light scratches and swirling will show up more readily than on lighter bodywork. As such we were considering taking the Lexus paint protector which I think is through Supagard. So my question is will this type of protection even help towards preventing swirls etc. And if so is the Lexus offering good value/worth while? E.g. would I be better off taking it to a third party auto detailer? Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated Thanks all
  4. Dear fellow owners, I am just replacing all the four calipers on my IS250 (the new ones are still in the box), and I was wondering on getting them laquered to protect those from rust. Ideally I would't paint them so I am planning to use a clear coat only. I found these products on Amazon, would you think those would work on their own, without a coloured primer? Thanks for your time.
  5. Hi there! today i was in car wash and i found on the parking sensor located in front on bumper some white spot. It looks like paint from small sensor cap is falling down. It looks i have to go and visit dealer....
  6. My 2007 460 paint code is 1F2 - Halfords do Toyota Tyrol silver code 1F7. Does anyone know if this is a close match and if so is it lighter or darker? I am asuming my car paint has faded. What I want to do is paint a black sharkfin aerial to match the car. Thanks, Derry.

  8. Hi Everyone, Looking for a bit of advice. I'm getting my wheels refurbished and painted on Monday, and wondering what colour I should get them to do my wheels. The car is in Cadoxtan slate, and the wheels are the standard 17 inch one's, the same as in the link below. FYI, not my car sale ad, just a link to a pic o a is220d with the same colour and wheels. Cheers
  9. Subtle improvement for under £10 - Brake Calipers I've just sent off my Alloys to be refurbished and left my IS250 on axle stands on my driveway looking rather sad. With the wheels off I noticed how shabby my brake calipers were looking and I thought I could make some cheap improvements while the wheels were off. I started with a good scrub with a stiff brush and some lightly soaped hot water, I then allowed everything to dry off before wiping everything with a cloth to remove any final debris. Here is what I was left with. I think decided to pickup some gun metal grey spray paint from my local auto shop, after some quick masking and a light dusting the calipers looked like this. I then thought It would be nice to have the Lexus branding on the Calipers, so I printed the logo onto some card and cut it out carefully with a craft knife to make a stencil. I then used the stencil to dust some sliver spray paint I had going spare over the calipers to get the finished product like so. Thanks for reading, I hope you found this useful. Let me know what you think. I'm also going to make some cheap improvements in the engine bay and I will be sure to post on here when I have done them. Thanks George I regularly post updates on what i'm doing with my cars on Instagram @Gtownsman
  10. I wanted to add a body kit to my black SC430, and have the car painted red, as the new panels would need to be painted, anyway. On getting quotations, however, I think that it'd be more economical to sell my car and buy a red one, because changing the colour of an SC430 is costly to get a good, professional finish in all the cracks and crevices. So, would anyone like to swap their red, 6-speed SC430 with any interior except black or grey, under 50k miles, for my late 2007 (57) black, 6-speed SC430, tan interior, 57k miles plus some cash? If yours has damage to the bumpers or front wings, it doesn't matter, as these will be changed for the kit panels. I could also do a straight swap for a red car with similar mileage to mine.
  11. hi there, I have just bought an is200 se '99 reg and it's by fsr the single nicest car ive ever dtiven but i want to get some of the small scratchs touched up but the paint code is 1c0 which is silver but mine looks silver/bronze is this the right code?
  12. Paint Code

I have a green IS200 T reg. I am look for some paint for it but unsure of the code. How many types of green was there? I ordered a touch up paint the code was 6Q7 and on the bottle its says Toyota Mica Green but my car is suppose to be Kensington Green. Can anyone help?
