Mighty1 posted a topic in Lexus General MaintenanceHi all, I am a keen MP3 listener, and wanted to connect my iPod Touch (4 Generation) and have access to an AUX and USB inputs too. I have a Lexus IS200 SE (05 Plate) with the original Sat Nav, and wanting to know if there are any interface devices out there that can be installed in to the original head unit - I quite like unit that came with the car and didn’t want to install a new double din head unit, I also love the original Sat Nav that came with it too. I was looking in to purchasing the Parrot mki9200 device professionally: http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits/parrot-mki9200 But, I have been advised by a reliable source who contacted Autoleads and a few other reputable companies, that due to the Sat Nav in the car, there are no SOT cables that are available for a Lexus with a Sat Nav, but plenty available for the Lexus head unit without the sat nav on the IS200. So its either having sat nav or losing the functionality of it, which I dont want as I love the GPS system. I am also happy not to have the Parrott kit, and to replace this with an interface that can support iPod, USB and AUX connectivity (which sits behind the head unit/ behind/side of the glove box) such as 'XCarLink' and to use the original head units buttons to access the playlists and switch between the songs, but again, I was advised that I would lose the functionality of the CD player in the car. Could anyone please advise if this can be possible or if anyone has managed to get by this problem that I am facing, and provide places/parts that I require to fit this in to my car? Thanks and Regards
Hi guys, I've just purchased a Parrot CK3100 hands free phone kit. I have the appropriate ISO lead to connect it to a lexus IS200, however, the reason for the post! 1. When looking around the audio system and the underside of the dash it all looks very tight! Has anyone any tips were to place the 'blue box' etc? 2. To connect the wire for the kit do I need to remove the audio system? Is there an easy way?? If anyone has installed this system to their IS200 i'd be very interested in hearing from you with your advice :) Thanks, Phil.
UKChris posted a topic in Lexus Audio/Video/Electronics/SecurityHello Everyone, I have recently purchased a 2006 Lexus RX400H from a Lexus main dealer. It is my first Lexus, and I am new to this Club. Whilst overall, I am very pleased, a few things disappoint me a lot: 1/ Even though I have 2010-11 maps, I cannot update my destination choice on the move. I have read through the forum postings here and others seem to be doing that via firmware update. How do I access the firmware update? The discs came from the supplying dealer, and are definitely genuine. I took the disc out, and reinserted it, but no firmware update option is visible anywhere 2/ On FM, whenever we switch on the rear window heater, there is a huge deterioration in the signal quality, with a lot of interference. Any thoughts? I tried uploading a video file to this site, but I am not allowed to do so. 3/ The Bluetooth implementation is just woeful. It seems that there is no way to manually type in names/numbers, and, as has been documented, the Bluetooth doesn't work with transferring data from iphone. According to the Lexus site, the Galaxy S 11 works perfectly, and I managed to borrow one, setup a Google account, backup all my vcf files from iPhone, transfer those to the galaxy S, connect to RX via Bluetooth, then after a struggle, managed to get the names into Phonebook 1. Alas, I soon realised that if a contact has more than 1 number, only the first number in the list is copied. eg, the home number, but not work or mobile. How useless is that? To discuss the above, I contacted Lexus Customer (non) service, who had no clue how to answer any of the above. They directed to a Premium Rate telephone number for Technical help (they initially declined to tell me that it cost £1.50 a minute, even though I asked). For a Premium Brand, I think that is disgusting. I did ring the supplying dealer who had promised to look into it for me previously, but, weeks later, I have yet to hear back from them. So, as I use the phone and sat nav a lot, it seems that paying a premium for the integrated systems has been a total waste of money. I am considering getting a Parrot fitted, can anyone confirm that I will need just the Parrot and the SOT lead. Do I need anything else? Will I retain the full functionality of the stereo steering wheel controls, as with other cars? I guess getting a Parrot with music playback will enable me to play music through the Mark Levinson stereo somehow - or will I need yet another interface? Thanks for your anticipated help.
Good Morning People, I have recently purchased a Lexus Is300 2004 with 78k FLSH! I chopped in a Fabia vRS for it (I know I must be crazy) but I'm starting to do longer motorway journeys and the vRS isn't as fuel efficient as one may think and is definately not as comfortable as the Lexus. I love my new Lexus it's a truly epic machine. I want to fit my (old) double din HU. I have Sat Nav and parking sensors + pre-amped system in the lex currently. I am aware if I want it all still to work I have to do something about the wiring. From what I can work out I can either try and splice wires open and fit resistors as per the US forum - or I can buy a Beatsonic SLA-91ad for $250 ?! for a patch lead right... I also understand that "Fargo" (used to) make(s)/supplie(s/d) a home loom. Does Fargo still do this? I've looked on his profile and he has been inactive for some time. Or does anyone else do this? Failing that. I'm mainly after bluetooth hands free and A2DP streaming, from also reading up it seems to either be Parrot or GROM. Has anyone else had any experiance with IO Play or Bury? and would you recommend them? Thank you in anticipation.
