  1. I have a 1999 Toyota Altezza 1GFE, which recently has had the engine light come on after driving it for a few minutes. Every time i restart the car it goes away but comes on again after a few minutes. I have done the paperclip diagnosis on the ODB1 port, but all it does is make the engine light, ABS light and the ECT light flash continuously. Does anyone know what it might be? Cheers,
  2. My RX 450H has been in an accident, as some one pulled out in front of me! This is when I wished I had a recording camera in the front for insurance claims. So far costs are mounting up for recovery and repair, also car hire costs as well. My own insurance have sub contracted out the claim, the junction was (unaware by me) controlled by traffic lights, that were not working. I was on the main A4 Bath road into Maidenhead and the other party was crossing that road. Police and ambulance were there quickly and I was assessed by a paramedic and although shocked was uninjured. But now I know why insurance is going up, as my own insurance company have tried to get me via some link up they have with a Legal team to report side affects of whip lash etc. Luckily no one was injured, but still they are contacting me in a few days as symptoms take time to develop. As the lights were not working at the junction, there needs to be an acceptance by the other parties insurance who is at fault. The RAC were great in arranging recovery and hire car, we were returning to Wales later, witnesses appeared, people came out of houses to help, then 30 minutes later the council repaired the lights when contacted by police. Wish I had a traffic camera fitted to record the crash....
  3. Mechanic Needed

I need a advice. Please could anyone recommend a garage or mechanic or someone who do know how to check suspension and will find a problem in Nottingham Newark or Lincoln. Going abroad in 3 weeks and annoyingly there is clunking/metalic noise from front left side, when going over speed bumps and things like that. Few mechanics already seen that and they say that everything is ok. regards
  4. Charlesworth Motors Uk

Dear fellow-enthusiasts, "I have an IS 220d (2006) with approx. 65K on it and it recently started to develop a squeaky noise, while pressing and depressing the clutch, the shifting seems flawless and there is no noticeable difference in driving, apart from the noise, which is a bit of a nuisance, when standing at a light and shifting into Neutral or 1st and making people's heads turn..." After various responds to my problem with suggestions, which made my stomach and my wallet turn upside down, I went with the worst expectation and here's a follow-up of my visit to a garage, which I found on the Owner's Club Forum. "Basically, the squeaky noise was coming from the operating arm that drives into a so called cup to operate the clutch, it needed greasing on both ends. Gearbox, clutch and flywheel were all perfectly fine." GBP 16,77 (incl. changing of the front vipers) So for now everything's perfectly fine *knockonwood* Here's the garage's link, if you live close by, it's definitely worth driving out, friendly staff and straight to the point service - no BS (excuse my French). Make sure you ask for Steve. http://www.charlesworthmotors.co.uk/ Drive safely, Cheers.
  5. Hi I recently changed my Lexus LS400 to a GS300, and found the experience pleasant. But my stereo even though it works well, the display is completely blank. Is there any way that it can be repaired or does anyone know of anyone who is breaking one, or has one for sale. Please advise.... Chucks
  6. My car started, Ran for 5 seconds then cut out. It will not start. The immobilizer warning light keeps flashing. I have 2 keys for the car, both keys will not turn the light off which suggests immobilizer problem not a key chip problem. Can anybody give me some advise on what may be wrong with my car? Thank You Sonic60
  7. Hello :) Has anyone repaired or services their Lexus at a Toyota service/dealership? How did it go? I've just been told that I can't do it! :) Thanks
  8. Scrotes Vs Is200

Last weekend I went to visit a friend in Royal Leamington Spa. Parked my IS200 in a council car park and came back to find out that some scrote/s decided to Starsky & Hutch it all over my car ! The roof is warped though I have managed to pull 3 of the major dents out myself, but I've got 6 very visible flaws in the roof now, they also rolled over the front of my car scratching the bonnet and nearside wing also denting the bonnet in two places in the process, one of them right on one of the folds too. To add insult to injury they even ripped off one of my roof strips - the :tsktsk:! The police are checking the CCTV in the car park but I’m not holding my breath for them to be able to actually ID the blighter/s. Took it to Lexus Stoke (my local dealership) but the price they were asking for was > £1000 and would mean an insurance jobby, which I’m really not keen on doing as I don’t have protected no claims. So I’m getting it done at an independent bodyshop in Fenton which was recommended to me by a couple of mates. I’ll post some after pictures when it’s been filled and re-sprayed. Really not a happy bunny right now though :megaangry:.
