  1. New IS200 Sport Owner

Just bought an 05 plate IS200 Sport, second car at 19 ;) Will get some better shots of it when I get the time. Q: what were your first mods to your lexus? What beginning modifications would you recommend? Thanks!!
  2. Hello All New owner ... I have attached some pics because I understand that is what new members do. Sorry about the quality but taken on an iPhone with the rose-tinted filter switched-off! Happy to answer any queries on any aspect of the car; most reviews seem to be very US-model centric and the UK models do deviate from the US-spec in quite a few areas so can give a UK owner perspective on the good, bad and indifferent bits of the car So it's an F-Sport, mica white, black leather, panoramic roof, HUD, Mark-Levinson sound, protection pack; I don't think there any other bits that could be added other than bits of trim cheers
  3. Gs300 mk1 wanted

Hi Guys I have been out of a Lexus for a while now and I'm on the look out for another gs300 mk1, ideally a sport in a dark colour but any tidy car considered. Get in touch if you have anything Cheers Matt Remember to reply to this thread offering anything for sale you need to be a Gold Member otherwise it is against the terms and conditions of the LOC. It also applies to private messages offering articles/car for sale.
  4. Hello all, I'm Alex, 28 from Darlington. Just sold my JDM hawkeye impreza and its time for a new project. I found the forum whilst researching a supercharged Lexus IS200. Looks like i'll be going the custom route as the chances of finding a TTE kit for decent money is looking unlikely. Anyways thought i'd post a few photos of my cars past and present below including my IS200 sport which I've had since Saturday must say I'm loving the car so far so nice to drive. My dad bought a new IS200 SE in 1999 and a Sport a few years after and always wanted one since then so great to finally see why he liked them so much. My first car - Yaris SR MR2 Rev 3 Turbo Yaris T Sport Civic Type R Bugeye Impreza WRX JDM Hawkeye Impreza Mazda Euno JDM J Limited As for the IS200 here it is below sorry there not the best photos only have the pictures from the advert as i haven't had time to get some good snaps! Anyways looking forward to meeting you all and getting some posts going on the forum when i start tinkering with the car!
  5. Hi. I joined this forum last week, prob good manners for me to at least say hi! I have just become the owner of an 04 plate is 200 Sport, see photo....... The last time i owned a lexus was 12 years ago and that was an is 200 se auto. This is a sport manual. When i had it serviced the mechanic said this car was quite rare, is that correct? I have 2 questions really and I hope some members could help answering them. 1. How many of these were sold in the UK? This particular version. 2. Can anyone point me to a list of the differences between this car and the "normal" model? Thanks in advance PS, Ref "differences", i dont mean the obvious ones (LOL) like the lower ride and bigger wheels. Thanks
  6. Wanted Lexus Is200 For Up To £1000

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a Lexus IS200 again after stupidly selling my 2000 SE model a few years ago. I have £1000 available (unless anyone is interested in a 1999 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 SRI with full factory fitted Irmscher kit and letterbox exhaust as part ex) and am looking for a SE or Sport model, not too worried about mileage but could do with some MOT on it. If anyone has anything availabe, please get in touch. Cheers
  7. Passenger Luxury

    From the album GS430 Sport

Series II GS has the most comfortable rear seating of any contemporary car. The All Black interior is pretty cool too.
  8. Window Badge

    From the album GS430 Sport

Presumably monogrammed just on the near-side because only pedestrians would read it when parked Hiding under the Petrol Filler Flap is also the LPG filler nozzle. You have to use an adapter which is a bit fiddly (and can be downright annoying at some pumps) but there's no separate LPG filler cap spoiling the aesthetics and the fuel costs are much the same as a small modern car.
  9. GS Sport Grille

    From the album GS430 Sport

Great TTE styling mod for the Sport models. Bumper, Bonnet & Grille were re-painted not long ago. Colour match isn't bad…blends well in most lighting situations and no stone chips yet!
  10. Super Salinas

    From the album GS430 Sport

The OZ Salinas are such beautiful wheels! After Market clear lens' side-repeaters were swopped over from the old GS. I bought them off ebay years ago…they don't seem to be around these days.
  11. Original Lighting Restored

    From the album GS430 Sport

The Sport came with after-market LED rear lighting & blackened exhaust finishers. Again, the old GS came to the rescue with perfect donor light clusters & shiny end pipes. My only gripe about the car is with the non-factory reversing sensors…but they do work well.
  12. Engine Bay

    From the album GS430 Sport

Yum! The brand new headlamp units look good on this pic. (unfortunately I couldn't swop these with the new looking shells on my old GS…they aren't HID)
  13. Driving Seat

    From the album GS430 Sport

A nice place to be. The memory seats are a welcome upgrade from the old GS…as is the Navi. Fitted bluetooth connectivity via Parrot. Currently working on a project with a spare GS wood/leather steering wheel…want to strip back the brown wood finish & re-colour to grey/black…will do a post if successful.
  14. The Chariot Awaits!

    From the album GS430 Sport

Very impressed with this car. Totally effortless & extremely capable. The sure-footedness was such that I opted for a fresh set of winter tyres to maintain performance during the colder months.
  15. Lower Stance

    From the album GS430 Sport

Apart from a more taught suspension the Sport sits some 20mm lower than an SE. I'm a fan of the Boot Spoiler…the rear view is the weakest angle from the styling point of view & the spoiler detracts from that. Also it does work at cruising speeds giving more stability. I had to replace the weak boot springs tho…the extra weight of the spoiler on the boot lid needs proper counterbalancing!
  16. Christmas Shopping in the West End

    From the album GS430 Sport

After running a Jaguar XJ8 & Lexus GS300 for the past 7 years it was time to go down to one vehicle. Found the perfect car in this GS430 Sport. Registered late 2003 (2002 production) Platinum Silver / Pembroke Leather 80,500 miles LPG converted Nokian WR-A3 Winter Tyres (Dunlop SP Sport Summer Tyres)
  17. Is200/is300 Sportcross Tail Lights

Hi folks, I damaged my Drivers side (right) tail light on my 2003 Sport cross the other day. I bought a replacement used off ebay only to realise the replacement was slightly tinted which was a feature of post 2004 models. Does anyone have Either an ordinary chrome (pre 2004) Drivers side light I can buy off them (for no more than £40) or swap for the tinted one, OR a Passenger side tinted one to be bought or swapped etc etc. Thanks Matt
  18. Hi, I am looking for a set of H&R 52426 sport springs. TIA
  19. I know this isn't the place to sell cars however, i'm struggling to determine what would be a reasonable price for my car as this particular model seems quite rare and no one tends to list them. Appreciate any thoughts Thanks Norm
  20. Hey Guys, I've been dreaming of a IS250 for a while now, and I went to look at 1 today and was denied! Other than I thought he was asking way too much for a 56 altho it had quite low mileage he was still asking £9k. I tried to get him to come down a bit but he wouldn't budge at all. Anyway I was wondering if anyone here might be interested, it has the Nav and I put on the later model 11 spoke Rims, satin headlights, HIDs, an HKS (Silent) Cat back, TTS front bumper, Rear hoop spoiler with LED brake, Laser cut Dials. On the bad side, it has almost 153 000 miles and has quite a bit of parking lot damage mostly just cosmetic dings, otherwise it still runs like a dream and is silky smooth and a lovely manual 6 speed. Other Details: MOT due 25/06/14 Taxed until 11/14 Cambelt/Waterpump/Front Arms done at around 85000 mls New Toyota battery a month ago, new disks and pads at last service. Been service by Albin Motors for last 5 years Biege leather interior with Alacantra, Sat Nav, Electric sunroof, Electrically adjustable heated front seats, 17" 11 spoke alloy wheels, Electric windows, One touch open on drivers window, RDS stereo radio/CD player with 6 CD autochanger, Climate control air conditioning, Speed sensitive power steering, Tilt adjustable steering wheel, Traction control, Alarm/immobiliser, Remote control central/double locking, Electric/heated/folding door mirrors. 1 Fully working Master Key, I have a spare key which starts the car but I haven't managed to get the buttons programmed yet. There are Lexus roof racks as well and a couple of other bits if I get the full price. As I mentioned there is some cosmetic damage from parking lots, I haven't been able to have repaired. Looking for £1500 ono. PM me for more pics/info. Thanks for reading. James
  21. Hello From Leicestershire, Uk

Hi all, In the next 12 months I hope to get a low mileage IS200 Sport, manual transmission for under £5000. I joined the forum to try and learn as much as I can before I commit to buying one. I've already read the buyer's guide, I just need some ideas on what is possible with them in terms of tuning, interior and sound etc. Cheers, Jake

  23. Gs300 Mk1 - Bonnet-Regent Green

A long shot! but, if anyone is breaking a mk1 Gs300 (sport), I am looking for a variety of body parts - but mainly bonnet. Despite having less than 100k on the clock, my 1997 Sport is suffering from the ravages of time (and bird excrement!) and laquer has peeled off badly. Replacement could work out more economical than re-spray :arrrggg-matey: Needs to be a Regent Green. Also (but less serious) rear bumper? Many thanks
  24. Tte Supercharge Kit

Hi guys, anybody know where I can get the above mentioned kit for my IS200 sport? Looking for much cheapness but price not really a problem.
  25. Hello all, Despite the killing of the diesel option by Lexus (which I did agree with), I am the owner of a 2007 IS 220d Sport. I have visited this site many times with relation to some problems I have experienced, and others I had heard about but did not have the pain of trying to solve. First of all, most of my problems were minor and of the "easily solved variety". My car as stated is an IS 220d from 2007 with pretty much the full package (except the ML stereo system). As of today I have just over 268 000 kms on the odometer and have basically done nothing aside from basic maintenance. Only one EGR was placed in the beginning and out of warranty due to poor research on my part. Other problems with the DPF, battery etc have all been solved without much expense and the car is presently running as new. No cabin rattles, suspension is fine, acceleration is well under 8 seconds and fuel consumption is around 7-8 L/100 kms, very reasonable for this car. Same water pump, transmission, clutch, DPF, injectors, fifth injector, muffler, suspension etc. Although I am a fan of all things Lexus and gasoline, my living in Portugal along with frequent trips made me opt for the diesel. Some headaches aside, the car is actually quite fine and I´d love to help or attempt to help out anyone that loves the car but is having a problem that may be solved without great expense. Cheers, John 2007 IS 220d Sport 268 000 kms and counting.
