Hello, First off I don't really post much on here, but this site has helped me out a lot in the past when it comes to little niggles with the car. Unfortunately this is one where I can't really find an answer... and it's about the steering wheel squeak, creak, rubbing noise. Now I have taken a small video so that you can hear it. Apologies for the camera moving around as I tried to show where abouts the noise is coming from. https://www.dropbox.com/s/as30zo7e8yj35lr/IMG_1600.m4v?dl=0 I am pretty sure the noise is from the drivers side. At a guess I am assuming because the steering column is obviously on the right. It's an IS200 that has done 155,000 miles if that helps. I did read that I should spray WD40 where the steering column comes through the footwell. This sort of worked, but to be honest as there was no pics, I sprayed half a can where ever I saw something that looked like a join that could squeak. Does anyone know what it is and how I can fix it? Thanks for your help.
lapyiwin posted a topic in Lexus IS 250 / Lexus IS 250C Club / Lexus IS 220D & IS 200D ClubHello everyone.. I am new to this forum. Now I have seriously annoying squeak coming from driver side leather seat near torso area when you sit, on right hand side to be precise. Everytime car goes over bump, it makes squeak, apprently coming from foam. I think other IS220D suffered too but I couldn't find any DIY solution except from going to dealer and get the entire seat replaced which won't happen in my case. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Also how do I clean foggy LCD panel on CD player? Thanks.
RXJasonRX posted a topic in RX 300 / RX 350 / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h ClubHello, I have had my RX 400h for 18 months. It's a fantastic car. But in last few days a squeak can be heard when I slightly press down the brake pedal and I wondered if anyone can throw any light on it. It started shortly after I pulled away from an island and felt either the antilocks or the four wheel drive come on. Thanks Jason
Hi, I'm a new-ish member and completely new to this forum lark but I need to try something!! I have an '99 IS200 sport. I have gained a really bad squeak from the n/s Rear Wheel. I am a bit of a DIY guy and have spent years doing my own repairs etc... It seems that the ball joint on the upper wishbone is at fault as the rubber gaiter sealing the ball joint is split and, after forcing some light oil into the ball joint, the noise went away for a few days. What I need to know is where the hell can I get a new rear wishbone from?? Is it the same part number as the front upper wishbones? If so then would the ball joints for the front upper wishbones also fit the rear upper wishbones? You can purchase front upper wishbone ball joints from eBay relatively cheap and, with the use of a press, are relatively easy to replace. I cannot find part numbers or any reference to these parts in spare part retailers. Can someone please help me as it is really embarrassing driving down the road in my beloved Lexus and instead of people hearing the roar of my 6 cylinders they hear something that resembles my bed after a Saturday night on the pull. Thanks in advance for any help anybody can offer me.
