  1. I have owned my is250 2011 for 1 year now. Full main dealer history. 58000 miles. Main service has been done. Over the last few months when braking and steering at a low speed there are a couple of clunks that sound like they are coming from the front drivers side wheel. I look it to lexus Hatfield and under warranty they replaced the shock absorber and top mount. The car seemed to be ok for a while but not long ago the clunk noise has appeared again. It also only happens when the engine has warmed up. Some people have suggested the pads are moving but the pads and discs are reasonably new so shouldn't be moving yet. Any ideas
  2. Noise possible steering

I have a noise which is difficult to identify , believe it might be to do with power steering as seems more prevalent when turning but can only hear when roof is down and then difficult to separate from road noise. There is a posting on you tube with very similar sound but no suggestion as to how it was cured , old post and for USA Anyone any idea , Lexus dealer could not hear it but only tested with roof up
  3. Hi Hoping for some advice with an ongoing issue with my GS300 06'. My steering is very loose with pulling (mainly left). The ride is very bumpy and encountering potholes or bumps is a rollercoaster experience!. To give you some background, I took my car to Lexus dealership last October and they completed a 4 wheel alignment which solved the issues for a few weeks but now all the issues have returned with the steering feeling even looser. This is the second wheel alignment I have had done in the last 12 months both times presenting the same issues and I am at a loss as to what to do now as the garages only seem interested in performing a wheel alignment and this is clearly not the problem. Could it be the rack and pinion or the steering block? I have the tie rod ends replaced not long after getting the car so I don't think it can be that. Any advice would be appreciated.
  4. I have just bought a 2007 GS450H with ivory interior but it currently has a leather steering wheel. I want to upgrade to a wood wheel but wanted to know what model wheels fit? I have found a 2006 GS430 wood wheel for sale but wanted to check it would fit?
  5. Hello, First off I don't really post much on here, but this site has helped me out a lot in the past when it comes to little niggles with the car. Unfortunately this is one where I can't really find an answer... and it's about the steering wheel squeak, creak, rubbing noise. Now I have taken a small video so that you can hear it. Apologies for the camera moving around as I tried to show where abouts the noise is coming from. I am pretty sure the noise is from the drivers side. At a guess I am assuming because the steering column is obviously on the right. It's an IS200 that has done 155,000 miles if that helps. I did read that I should spray WD40 where the steering column comes through the footwell. This sort of worked, but to be honest as there was no pics, I sprayed half a can where ever I saw something that looked like a join that could squeak. Does anyone know what it is and how I can fix it? Thanks for your help.
  6. Hi Recently the 600 started pulling to the left, not a violent pull but enough to overcome the lane keeping assist. All four tyres were only a month old so I suspected the alignment had been knocked out from multiple pot hole hit on our wonderful roads. A full alignment showed that both front wheels castor and toe were out of spec and were adjusted. ~All angles are now in spec but not at the ideal settings and the car still pulls slightly to the left. When I spoke to the garage they said that that was the best could do and any further adjustment would require changing parts of the front suspension. Don't know that much about wheel alignment and less about the suspension setup on the LS600 as I cant find a manual online to check their statement. Does anyone have experience of 600's pulling to the left or it's alignment setup. would the alignment figures below cause the car to still pull to the left or should they be OK as they are all in the green, although the before and after castor angle for the front left has the same before and after value but one is red and one is green! Failing that can anyone recommend a good alignment centre in the Edinburgh area? I have attached the alignment printout below. All help and advice greatly appreciated.
  7. Hi, hope everyone is having a nice Sunday. I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a right pain in the ***** problem with my is 200 sport (2004) I have a rattle. A right nuisance. Not loud but loud enough to notice. It seems to come from the front of the car. I had one shock changed just after i got the car. Still rattles I had new discs and pads on the front A garage told me it was the anti roll bar bushes, so had them changed at £130. Didn't work Took it elsewhere, and THEY said also the anti roll bar, looked at the previous garages work, said was poor quality and replaced them. so i paid TWICE for the same damn job but this time they replaced 2 other bushes or dampers, in the middle of the bar. £150. Still bloody rattles They are now saying it is the lower ball joints, to replace, another £155. Am i being taken for a ride here if you pardon the pun? I was ripped off by a car dealer, one who didn't honour his warranty (Plympton car centre, Devon, avoid them like the plague) and have spent a small fortune on this damn car. Does anyone think replacing the ball joints would fix it or is there something else it could be?
  8. Looking to put a few things right on a 2005 LS430. Both steering motors have slowed to a crawl so need replacing, have tried lubrication but to no avail. Can anyone confirm that Land Cruiser Motors part numbers 89231-60021 and 89232-60021 fit the LS430? Also need a replacement reversing camera but I've only been able to find one at the moment at a breakers in Australia unless I want to buy a new one or expensive second hand one from the US. I've looked at amayama and even they're expensive for one! Finding anyone breaking a facelift LS430 in the UK is like trying to find rocking horse dung, one or two earlier ones but never post '04!
  9. Where can I get a replacement steering wheel or my LS 400. the leather is coming off mine! Thanks, George
  10. HELP!!! I'm trying to get to the bottom of this before speeding any money, I get a slight vibration through the steering wheel when travelling at high speed, Which seems to extend to the whole car above 90mph, this vibration increases dramatically when braking. I have had all the 4 wheels balanced at 2 different companies, the tracking has been done with the latest laser system, the tyres have been rotated and the suspension, track rods, wheel bearings etc have all been checked on one of those MOT testing machines that shake the whole car to find any play. Also the car has been put on a brake testing roller to see if the discs are warped. NOTHING!! Know one can find anything wrong with the car, yet the vibration is still there? The only advise I've had is "wait for it to get worse mate" Can anyone shed any light on this ?
  11. Is200

  12. I have just bought another LS400 after a gap of 6 years having got fed up of the unreliability of my V10 Touareg. It is the same year as my last one (1999) with 36K on the clock. I did 180K in the last one and am hoping for the same this time :-) The steering column adjusts up and down but the motor controlling the in and out is not working. can anyone suggest if this might be lack of use, motor gone or a connection? Has it happened to anyone else? I have the car booked in at Lexus Exeter for them to have a look on Monday, but would rather go in armed with my own info. A secondary point is the sat nav which works sometimes and not others. It is displaying a message that the CD is not readable. Is this likely to be lack of use/dust in the unit in the boot or something more serious. Is there someone known to this forum that can look at and repaair these units. Th emain dealer will simply tell me to buy another unit at £lots which I won't be doing. Finally, if anyone wants a very cheap V10 Touareg then let me know! Nick
