Ls430 Satnav Screen Removal ?

Recommended Posts

hi

its very easy

move gearknob into N and Unscrew and remove gearknob

remove gear surround - starting near the cupholders prise it up using to screwdrivers covered with a cloth as not to damage the trim - once that end is lifted move further up and repeat - once its loose lift up - remember to disconnect the cigar lighter connector.

Then you need to remove the centre air vents

using 2 ice lolly stick type objects - insert them on each side to depress the holding tabs and pull gently towards the back of the car - might be easier to do one side at a time

then its a matter of removing 2 screws at the top and 2 at the bottom

disconnect the connectors at the back

why are you removing may i ask?

That video is for removing the CD only.

I want to remove the satnav screen which is positioned above.

Reason for removing is to replace as my screen doesn't always respond to touch!!

Thanks anyway!

On the subject of screens, any way to disable screen flap completely? Convenient place to stick my better tinting.  If you touch a button by mistake I have to unstick tinting switch screen off and restock tinting. Pain in the butt.
