Ls460, Climate Delay. Is This Normal?

Recommended Posts

When first getting in and hitting the climate button all the icons come up but there is a delay of about 30 secs before anything works, hadn't really noticed or bothered me before but when it's 37 degrees outside and cars been parked up you want that a/c blasting in your face instantly, but there is a delay of about 30secs plus before the whole things jump into life. Is this normal? Thanks!!

If you have the climate control on 'Auto', the air con should work immediately.

In winters it kicks in late when the engine is warmer.

Yes, a delay is normal. The car doesn't blow air on you until the ac has time to cool itself down (ie it won't blow warm or hot air already in the car/system) - which takes a moment. Driving off quickly increases the engine revs and you get cold air a bit quicker.

If you're desperate and have the proper key fob thing in your pocket, as you walk up to the car push and hold the unlock button. All windows and the sunroof will open, so you get ten seconds of convective cooling before you get into the car! Then shut them all when the engine has started and the cold air starts coming through.
