Running A Bit Rough At 1500 Rpm

Recommended Posts

My LS runs a bit rough between 1400 and 1600 rpm. The engine is bucking and feels like a misfire.

Let off the throttle or press it and its smooth again.

This only happens at steady speed and only between above rpm. Any other steady speed is fine :eerrrmm:

I have an OBD1 reader on it's way, but was hoping anyone might know what it is.

You don't need a code reader Rudy, the early LS400 only requires a paperclip to pull the codes.

If the EML is not illuminated there may not be any stored codes to see, suspects would be plugs, leads, rotor arms, dizzy caps or the passenger side coil.

Less possible is the TPS but this and things like the AFM should throw codes.

Also check your air filter.

Cheers for that Steve.

I figured I wouldn't have a code as the EML is not lit.

I'm hoping to use the OBD1 app to get some live data to see if there is anything amiss.
