Hi and greeting to all ! I have just tried to FIX ? the cd player in my LS430 2003 ,It was simple to remove , and replace ,but it ends there. I found that on replacing it I now don't have the radio or sat nav or control of the climate working . I spoke to the main Lexus dealer who has serviced this car since I owned it ,his suggestion is to try and find a breakers that might have a replacement cd/radio unit ? he also said that the number shown on the front of the cassette flap has to be an exact match, mine is P3909

hope someone can help

Cheers

Hi David and welcome to the LOC, we are a
friendly bunch and some of us even know how to pull them to bits and
put them back together again, with of course the one bolt and washer
left over. I am no good in sorting you present problem but someone will be along shortly to help. Regards Mike.

Try eBay, there's a company that recondition the units, there based in Brentwood Essex, on the doddinghurst area, very helpful, charged me £60 to recon my unit for my IS250, main dealer quoted £2k to replace, they do do postal too,

Hope this helps

Sounds like you left a plug out on the back. I took the radio out of mine (2001 LS430) to try to fix the cd and left the plug off the bottom panel by mistake. This stopped the A/C from working and got me a warning message about checking that everything was plugged in. In the end I have opted to fit an I-pod adapter instead of using CDs.

Thanks guys I took it out again to check that I had replaced all three plugs , which I had, I found that by leaving the middle black plug out I got the radio and the climate control back to full working order, I can live without the CD player ,but just obsessed with keeping my old ls430 in 100% new condition.

Suppose I will have to keep looking for a 2003 being broke with a unit witht he same prefix P3909 shown on the cassette flap!

Cheers and thanks
