A few weeks ago I took my new master key in to be programmed. They said it was a 10 minute job, which they would fit in amongst others. After a while the technician said he couldn't do it, and could I book it in for a couple of hours to try and solve why not.

Today it went in for the afternoon. They still say it can't be programmed (I have an original sub key, but not an original master) but they lent me a courtesy car for the afternoon and charged me nothing. I can think of other places that would have wanted m to pay for the time they spent.

Technology went to far a long time ago. Some cars can only have oil drained out through the dipstick tube, they dont have a sump plug.

The key issue is a mine field, like you say they should be able to programe a key. What i was refering to was no charge.

The problem is Lexus appear to have no way of programming a key if you don't already have a master key.

I bought a new master, got a locksmith to get it past the immobiliser so I can drive the car with it, and Lexus Cheltenham said they would have a go at getting it to work the locking. I knew it was a long shot, but they could have asked for cash to have a go.
