Problem With Is200

Hi Guys,

I'm new here and with a question straight away!

I just bought an Is200 and it has an Engine Management Light on with the code P1346 VVT Sensor Range/Performance Problem

The cambelt has just been changed and the previous owner said that it felt like it had less power after it had been done. He wasnt aware of the EML.

What do you guys think is the first port of call?

Cheers,

Jord

Could well do as the vvti system is oil pressure controlled as well as management system. Also the ecu could be picking up problem and limiting power. Being as cambelt has just been changed could be something as simple as plug loose or more troublesome cambelt could be out by a couple of teeth.

Good grief, why would anyone trust their Lexus at Halfords.... I never let anyone touch it except the specialist Japanese tuner I use. I don't pretend to be a mechanic and am always happy to pay someone I trust to look after my car. some may say its expensive, but then we are all different. My neighbours spend around 5 grand a year on smoking!!!!!!! Take it to an expert and get it properly checked out and set up for peace of mind and enjoyable driving.

The worst thing to do is take your car to Halfrauds. Seriously they cant even put a light bulb in correctly. Better off taking your car to the local school and asking the spotty teenagers to work on it. Atleast they'd take better care of it.

Last time i went to Halfrauds i asked for new fog light bulbs and they tried to sell me tiny LED's that push in! They have no friggin clue what they're doing. Just glad they have insurance just incase they blow up a car trying to re-gas the aircon.
