Keyless Entry Problems Is 220D 2010

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I'm new to the forum and new to Lexus.

I recently purchased my first Lexus IS 220d 2010 manual with 95k miles.

I know that I shouldn't but I bought it off with one fob key which is not working correctly but starts the engine.(good deal on car)

Wireless door open doesn't work at all. to enter the car I need to use a metal key inserting in keyhole to open the central locking(all doors open/close). however I can start the engine pressing/depressing clutch and holding the fob my the START/STOP button. ---> please note that there is no fob insert slot.

I replaced a new Battery already and this didn't cure my issue. What's more funny is that having Battery on or removed out from fob I still can start the engine touching fob to START/STOP button.

The message "key not detected" only appears when the engine is idling and I get outside with it.

I was surfing across internet but no joy. I've seen somewhere that SMART button might be deactivated but there is no such in my car under the dashboard. I tried to reprogram the fob with lock/unlock method but nothing.

I'd be very thankful for any help and advise.

Thank You

Regards

Thomas

Easy way is to order new key from main dealer as you need new one anyway it's not cheap though around £300 you can only get from lexus as it needs to be reprogrammed to cars ecu, don't buy from eBay you will be wasting your money as they can't be programmed.it could be faulty key good luck
