I thought this was common knowledge? It damages paint on all cars not just VW - I dont use suncream anyway - don't get burnt so.....

Ive seen cars with fingerprints on them caused by it!

Its certainly true that its more of an issue on newer cars simply because they have more delicate paint.

Some people still don't think leaving bird poo on their car for 6 months will have any effect LOL

Im not that keen - my car usually has a couple of layers of wax on it anyway but I usually get rid of it with some warm water.
