IS250 F-Sport Build Thread

Another quick little mod this time it was the upgrade sport footbrake pedal. As my car is an F-Sport it comes with nice sports pedals for the accelerator, brake and foo rest at least however the foot brake itself was just a rubber covered little stump.

Removed the rubber and was left with this:

Then I made myself a nice sports pedal mounting plate from a bit of aluminium we had knocking about in the workshop:

Then I installed a Corolla sport clutch pedal cover and now have a nice matching set of pedals

Thanks for the feedback on the grill gents much appreciated, but think its probably going to look best left alone, I was starting to think the black surround would work like most of the opinions on here until I saw this picture and it just looks cheap like a lower spec model with the grill black on my colour and F-Sport bumper

I'm still not 100% off the idea of a colour coded grill surround but think this photo makes up my mind that black doesn't work on my colour at least

Right gentlemen could do with racking your brains to see if anyone can think or something I can use to help me retrofit a QI Charger into my arm rest cupboard, essentially I am looking to re-create this:

14-07-06-lexus-nx-qui-wireless-charger-t

I have the hardware sorted for the actual charging with can do that bit of the job I am trying to figure out where I can find a tray that is roughly 12cm wide 18cm long with enough depth to hide the 3 coil QI charger and secure the phone above, the lips on either side of the try would allow it to rest on the lip edges inside the arm rest, leaving a nice tray to pop the phone in and charge, but I cant think of anything that will be the right shape to house the phone and have nice lips down the sides for mounting anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Could you modify this?

Cheers for the suggestion mate but don't think i can make that one work. One of the guys at work has just given me a very good idea though involving an old Auris rear bumper support!

Couple more updates, gave my front brake callipers a service and change my front pads last night, alongside also starting to build the framework for my wireless phone charger.

This evening it was time to fit my underskirt kit, I appreciate this wont be to everyone taste again, possibly a little "boy racer" for some however I personally love them they fit beautifully and bring the black from the front splitter and rear bumper splitters nicely along the sides.

Another day another modification! Lots and lots happened recently, managed to get a spare hour today whilst my wife and daughter had an afternoon nap so get my new custom steering wheel and carbon fibre controls fitted. This steering wheel not only looks amazing but feels even better really adds something to the driving experience again another modification I am over the moon with!

Looks fantastic mate. Do you have the link for the side skirt blades? I can't find the specific ones you have and would rather go with a recommended one than a random selected one. Lol.

Thanks in advance

Some very nice subtle touches going on here. All adds up to a great looking vehicle which has the perfect balance between sleeper and shouty.

Ok so this one is very rough around the edges and a bit of a mock up for my wireless arm rest charger, please don't judge it on looks it was made for function. Which I can confirm it functions perfectly.

I'm a big wireless charger fan and user, have 1 next to the sofa at home, 1 next to my bed for bedtime and 1 on my desk at work so despite using my phone a lot for work purposes when estimating, I really don't need 1 in the car but hell why not its a project that so far has cost me £10

This is the tray that just sits there but it easily removed if you need to get to something under the tray

My wife's phone placed in and charging dock (mine was being used to take the picture), obviously it works with either phone or any phone with wireless charging capabilities

I would like to look at ways to work on the dock to make it look OEM, as I mentioned it is very rough, would like to get a much neater and nicer shape with removable bumper supports then have the unit flocked to match the interior of the arm rest, but I cant figure out how to achieve a nice OEM looking unit

That looks like a good rough guide.

Perhaps access to a 3D printer may be beneficial?
