Hi All

just wandered if anyone knew of the best place to get cheap replacement of my front headlight units, I've had moisture ingress and  it has made them less transparent and get a yellow tinge.

ive scoured the web only to be ripped off by Breakers wanting £120 plus. Each

cheers

Hi Chris,

I have an IS250C and have just had the nearside headlamp unit replaced under warranty.  It had suffered water ingress resulting in condensation and a rusty tinge to the reflector bottom edge.

I understand the new unit was close to £600.  The breakers will know this and consider charging 20% for a used unit to be acceptable.  In that context, £120 is probably reasonable.

If you get a spare unit for 120 and swap a bad one out, you can give it a go, if it works slap the refurbed one on eBay for a hundred notes - could be a win-win and with the spare in your car you won't have any down time while you refurb the old unit!

This seems to be a common issue in the US and they actually put a TSB out - I do recall there being a step by step guide a yank put together on one of the US owners club forums but don't have the link to hand :(

If you buy a car like the RX, with complicated gadgets and electronics, you have to be prepared to foot the bills that come with it!

£120 is a pretty fair price in my opinion.

If you are going to do the replacement yourself (note that I have NOT done it myself), be careful not to damage anything else in the process... HID unit, AFS sensors and mechanism, self leveling sensors,...
