Hello all.

I have a lexus 220D that has developed a habit of not producing power in low revolutions.

I got a scaner and are monitoring motor parameters on a andoid app while driving, but I have noe idea what it is supposed to be.

Max boost I get is 1bar, but the low end power is not explained by this but would be nice to have an idea of what fuel/air flow I should be expecting.

I also struggle to find out how the ERG is supposed to work, I understand the principle of operation, but not what conditions it should be open or closed.

Hi.

If the car feels like there is no power, but then it sudden takes off at higher RPM, then the first thing to check is the EGR valve.  It is a good idea to take it off and clean it out anyway if you don't know the last time it was checked.  They tend to clog up quite quickly.

As for testing the turbo, the only thing I could find in the manual was this:

I did take the valve off and clean it. It was quite cloged up, but it did marginal difference.

I get 1bar of boost, but I have no idea if this is normal or outside the specs.

I also dont know the actual way the ERG is controlled. Is it constantly letting exhaust into the manifoil according the desired emision profile or is it disabled under/over certain rpms or engine loads?
