Is it more involved to have a cambelt changed when a car has Alps system fitted, it's a ls430.

also do you have to have any types of certificate of installation to be able to insure a car fitted with it

Hi John.

Ins companies, some insist upon a certificate but this isn't a problem ask if they want you to take it to a local co your happy with and they inspect the system and if OK they will give you a cert. Charge from about £25+

Timing belt shouldn't make any difference but most Lexus garages will turn you down with it on. Good luck and happy motoring. Mike.
