I have been offered a 2002 LS430 with full service history and 102,000 miles.

The timing belt has not been changed and must be due.

Any idea how much this is likely to cost and could a competent local garage undertake it.

I live in rural France and Lexus dealers are like hen's teeth around here

Thanks

Doesn't need to be done at Lexus. Probably around £200 for an independent to do just the belt. Obviously more if you want the water pump and tensioners changed at the same time.

Lexus will change the belt for £295 on a 5 year or older LS.
