hi you should have changed it long before now,it's 6 years or 60,000mls whichever comes first. I had my 1st cam belt change(including idler,tensioner water pump etc) in 2010 at 55,000 miles and my 2nd change in 2016 with 79,000 miles on the clock(my car is a 2003)

Thanks for your reply scudney, I'll have a look at getting it done, I've not had the car long is there anything to look out for don't want it going on me for the next couple months before I can get it done

Hi sound advice given ,the problems are well documented on here .You can remove the top plastic cover and inspect the belt ,if it looks frayed at the edges don,t wait . The tensioner can also give problems ,mine on my sportcross gave up at 53000 ,fortunately the EML came on as it had jumped a tooth so no damage done ;even if all looks OK get it changed ASAP as if it fails it will bevery expensive
