Tyre Preasures

Hi folks. I've got a '02 IS200 SE which I've owned for about 6months now when I bought the car it handled fine but after refurbishing the wheels and swopping them around I noticed the handling had deteriorated, I began to think maybe the dampers needed changing as the car is 14years old and I have no service history or maybe its how its meant to be so I was looking in to IS200 Sport suspension, and then yesterday I had a brain wave, Tyre Pressures so out I go to check them, the rear drivers side was 50psi and all the others ranged between 29psi and 35psi. So I've set them all to 39psi as a starting point as the information plaque on the 'B'pilar is for the 215/45/17 tyre, but all the tyres on my IS are 225/45/17.

Anyway I was wondering what pressures do other people run? Do you run different pressures front to back?

Sorry for the rambling, I thought if I wrote out how I found the solution to my problem of the wayward handling then it might help someone else how has the same issue.
